Hitch Cover question

I hope this is the right place to put this. I've had my jeep for about 4 weeks now and recently picked up a hitch cover. I'm coming from a dodge charger so this is my first time using something like this. The hole in my hitch cover doesn't allow it to sit flush with the receiver when the pin is attached. Any way of securing this or am I sol?

Re: Hitch Cover question

My guess is the hole in the hitch cover is in the wrong place. You can either drill or grind it out, or return it. Where did you purchase it?

Figured as much. The bookstore of my college. I'll try the return route first. Just didn't know if there was any attachment I could add to the receiver to hekp

Re: Hitch Cover question

You can also cut out a piece of foam to place between the hitch and the cover. I used to have a cover that had a black piece of foam for this purpose and it worked great and held up well.

Re: Hitch Cover question

Or get a Jeep hitch cover that fits properly through Mopar.

I transferred the one from my 02 to my 14.

Heavy weatherstripping works, secure with some contact cement to the cover.
Or, get one that fits.

How about the self adhesive weather stripping?

Drive to a Jeep dealership, look around one that has a cover on hitch then look under back bumper. As u do that proceed to pull cover off hitch.

Re: Hitch Cover question

I have the cover that came with the Jeep. But, if I had to buy one, it would be something more interesting.
