How difficult is it to change a DRL bulb

on a 2013 JGC Overland? The driver's side bulb is out. I searched the forum but couldn't find anything specific. I've only had my Jeep for a month now so everything is new to me.

Re: How difficult is it to change a DRL bulb

'Depends if you are triple jointed or not.

Seriously, it's not "hard" to change these lamps...it just takes a little patience, especially the first time as you figure out things. The driver's side is "harder" because access is tighter...and many folks find it convenient to release the plastic fastener that holds the wiper fluid reservoir, etc., to help with that. The lamps, themselves, require a twist to release them from the housing and then you can pull them up with the cable attached to affect your change. While you are doing this, you'll want to consider going to LED lamps for your DRLs. The 5K temp units are a near match for the projector headlamps. I suggest Xenondepot for these lamps and they are also a forum supporter here at JG.

Hey Jim, don't mean to hijack this thread, but I have questions about LED DRLs. Are they plug and play? No extra stuff like resistors? Would I have to worry about burning out the existing wires? Do you have any pics of your lights?

Yes, plug and play, at least for MY11-MY13. I cannot comment on MY14+...no experience.

Previously posted...DRLs and Fogs with 5K LEDs. Sorry, this photo only shows the Fogs, but the DRLs are the same color and noticeably brighter than OEM halogens.

Jim, is this what you're using in your DRLs?
