How good are the Quad Halogens?

The GC Limited the dealer has in stock has just about every option I want except HID head lights. I know there are after market bulbs for Halogens. I have Philips VisionPlus on my Tundra and they are pretty good. The light frequency is supposed be adjusted for older eyes, I'm 73. For you older folks how are the Quad Halogens. I ask because I drive all night on my yearly trip to Canada.

Don't mess around, get the factory HID's.
You also get Auto Dim with HID's and I really love that feature.

My high beams are on 100% of the time and it Dim's them faster and more courteously than I ever did.

Re: How good are the Quad Halogens?

Thanks everyone. Looks like HIDs it is. Took the wife today to take a ride in a GC Limited. Gave the sales person the build sheet I had printed out. They couldn't find one out to 300 miles so it looks like order time. There's one problem now. The QC we drove today didn't have QL. The TrailHawk I drove with QL rode so much nicer.

Re: How good are the Quad Halogens?

Keep in mind that if you go up in Trim to get the features you really want sometimes (actually often) you'll find a LOT more choices on the lots and sometimes as good a deal you'd get ordering a lower trim and you tend to get more goodies.

I did this and didn't realize how much I liked the other goodies. When I did get an Overland I wasn't so concerned about the headlights, but now I'd never go back.

Look at Cars.com Add say a Keyword like HID then sort by Price with limited distance.
I've found like the last 5 cars that way and it's always been a pretty good deal and turned out I didn't have to go that far to get it.

Also, if you do order check out the "Koons" deal.

Good luck.

Re: How good are the Quad Halogens?

What's the "Koons" deal? Will I find it if I do a search on this site?

Keep thinking about that TrailHawk I drove. If it wasn't silver, almost the same as my Tundra that I've had for 17 years, I would probably be dealing on it. I like both the Granite and the Red. I bet Granite on the no chrome TrailHawk would be something.

I put Koon in the search box above and this was the 2nd hit.

Re: How good are the Quad Halogens?

Thanks mswlogo
I'm in Wisconsin. Virginia is a long ways away.

Should I feel sorry for a salesman who spent about 4 hrs with me over 2 days. My nephew, who's second in command of a police department, gave me the name of a person who will give the same discount the department gets. My nephew claims it's pretty good. That person is at the same dealership that I went to. That means I'll probably see the first salesman.
