How to display gear# on dash while in D?

A friend's 2014 Grand Cherokee has unknowingly enabled the dash to display what gear his car is in while in D. He doesn't know how he did it. Mine, also a 2014, doesn't display the gear number, and I can't figure out how to do that.

Anyone know how to turn enable this feature?

Re: How to display gear# on dash while in D?

I don't know if this makes a difference but, right after I got my GC I switched the display to on show a single gear, D, R, N, etc., instead of showing them all at once. The actual gear I'm in shows just to the right. It is not as brightly illuminated as the selector designation.

Do we have the ability to switch off the gear numbers? I'm not (or wasn't) aware of that. I actually like the gear numbers displaying next to D.

Screen set up > Current Gear > On

I wish the gear number was more illuminated, would make it easier to use the flappy paddles.

Re: How to display gear# on dash while in D?

Thanks for the info. I'm leaving it like it is though... LOL.

At least that answers the OP's question.
