How to move the roof cross bars...?

I had the dealer install the cross bars on my 2014 JGC Limited. I got a packet with two keys and an Allen wrench + a ragged piece of paper with some lame diagrams on it.

So, how do I operate the cross bars?

Re: How to move the roof cross bars...?

If they are the same as the OEM bars for the '11/'12/'13 models...

The outer bolt tightens/loosens the mounting clamp. The inner bolt adjusts the position/spacing of the clamps. There is another thread that describes in detail how to mount the bars. The keys are to allow the end-caps to be removed, in case you use accessories that can take advantage of the "T"-slot built into the bars.

Tybalt39, thanks for the info. I had read the thread you mentioned, but I really needed the info you passed along. Thanks!!

It seems like Jeep over-engineered the cross bar deal. The mechanism that I had on my 2009 Jeep GC appeared fine to me.
