Re: How to remove GC door badging?
Hey guys, just wanted to follow up on my original post. I got the Front, Rear, and side badging all off over the weekend. I useD a $30 steamer gun from Bed Bath and Beyond and for those of you who are going to buy one specifically to do this job, i would recommend one with a much larger water tank than the one I had. I was literally out of steam after 45 seconds each time so I was refilling a LOT. This works very well to looseN things up. I also used a pair of auto molding plastic toolS like the Prylon type. I then used my thumngs to remove most of the rubbery adhesive (after it dries from the steam, its actually easier to rub it off with your thumbs one over the other. Once I got the big chunks off, I used rubbing alcohol to get more off. That still wasn't enough so I went to a sherwin williams and got some light duty delicate surface cleaner and it worked GREAT to remove the last little lines I couldnt get off.
I will say I did get a little frustrated and maybe a little too gung ho with the plastic tools and ended up with some light scuffing. Today I went to wash and wax it so you can see how it came out.
