Re: husky mud guards on 2014?

To put the topic back on track... I went out and bought the Husky Mud Guards. Price was $35 plus tax per pair at a local shop. The part numbers are 58101 and 59101. The fit is excellent and the fronts were easy to install. I haven't done the rears yet as I think a hole needs to be drilled on the driver's side. Trying to figure out how to do this without taking the wheel off. The pics aren't the best, but note how the bottom of the guard is rounded, which I don't think the Jeep branded ones are. This may give a cleaner look.

What's the clearance from the ground? The Mopar's are horrible, I sent them back as soon as I saw how close to the ground they were.

On my laredo e with tow the front guard is 6.5 inches off the ground. The rears will be higher, but I don't have them on yet. Here's a pic. The side is dirty from before guard install. They're doing their job nicely.

Is the Husky mudguard flexible or hard? I know reports are that the Mopar one is flexible.

Wait those aren't floormats, just couldn't resist
I have the mopar ones, and after seeing the husky ones, I think i like the husky's better.

Haha, floor mats. Many good options, but another thread. With the mud guards I would say that the Huskys are just an alternative to the Jeep ones. I'd guess they are very similar material wise. They are not a flexible rubber, so I'd call them stiff. That said they do seem very durable and come with a lifetime warranty. In the end pick the one you like looks wise and go for it.

Just put the rears on. Again the salt spray was from previous driving. Swinging by the car wash on the way home. Install was very simple and they fit like a glove.

Looks good!

I just installed mine. I had installed the Jeep version on my 13 GC. On the 14 I decided to give the Husky a try since I liked the shape better. The Husky were a lot easier to install than the Jeep ones. Not sure why.

How do these install? Did you have to take the wheels off? Do they use existing holes/screws or did you have to drill? Where did you buy them?

I didn't take the wheels off. No drilling involved at all.

I bought mine on Amazon. I was looking for them and Amazon had a set for sale through their warehouse deals site. I guess these had been returned. I figured if they were used I could deal with some marks on them. I pad 50 bucks for front and back. They go for 70 for whole set normally.

When I got them they were new!.
