I got my first door ding this weekend.

You would have thought my dog died or something the way I acted when I saw it. lol

It's on the left side of the passenger door right at the chrome. I think the paintless dent repair guys should be able to fix it quite easily.

Poor baby.

Re: I got my first door ding this weekend.

Was this one of those situations where you were parked as far away as possible, and some idiot felt the need to park right next to you even though there were plenty of closer empty spots? I hate when that happens.

Re: I got my first door ding this weekend.

It sucks, but that's life. You'll get over it. I have 3 tiny chips in my windshield and now a long scratch made by some sand in my wipers from trip to the shore 3 weeks ago. These cannot be fixed without replacement and I'm not at that point yet.

Re: I got my first door ding this weekend.

I can deal with windshield dings much better than door dings. Why? Because wndshield dings are mostly unavoidable accidents, while most door dings are not accidental. They are usually caused by inattentive or inconsiderate people who really need to be taught a lesson.

That's a good point.

Yup...the DW is so careful about parking in supermarkets but yet someone was careless with a shopping cart and left a 2 inch scratch. We also have a dent in the passenger side fender that just somehow appeared...we will hopefully have a PDR person take care of on our next service visit.

Re: I got my first door ding this weekend.

Door Dings are a bummer for sure. The inattentive or careless door dinger is usually driving some worthless vehicle that should be in the junk yard.

Re: I got my first door ding this weekend.

I would much rather have glass damage than paint or sheet metal damage any day. That is a difficult area to repair with painless dent removal techniques, hopefully they will be able to get it out easily!!

I went this morning and they repaired it. Looks fine now. 80 bucks to fix it but they gave me twenty off as a military discount.

Re: I got my first door ding this weekend.

glad its fixed! Its been 6 months for me and I am driving and parking my rig like it was a Maybach. I park at the end of the parking lot and walk to the mall entrances, if i am forced to get a spot amongst the general population I try to locate a new vehicle in great condition and washed, they usually share the same sentiment and try not to damage their own doors opening them.

Hope I just didnt jinx myself lol.

Re: I got my first door ding this weekend.

Drives me nuts! Did it yesterday parked far away empty lot and some PoS pick up parked right next to me with 100 surrounding spots open! Amazes me how stupid people can be! I always lift mine up Off road II hoping the dings will stay low if I were to get one.
