I need Rock Rail Tool

So, the dealership that i first had try install my rock rails just flat out failed and lied about what needed to be done.

They handed me a bag of bolts and plugged all the holes where the bolts were supposed to go with plastic bits.

Dumb...so dumb...

Anyway, i'm trying to get another place to finish the install...but the special hex tool needed for my kit was either never in the kit or never given back to me by the dealership.

Anyone on this board still have that tool and willing to sell them to me?

I could probably make one...but im happy to spend a couple bucks and get the right one and just hand over to the dealership.

Thanks!

Rich

Re: I need Rock Rail Tool

Are you sure the hex tool is special, and just not one you haven't seen before? I'd take one of the bolts to a hardware or auto parts store and see if they have a wrench.

Re: I need Rock Rail Tool

The hex tool is included in the kit, lean into the dealer for it. Otherwise, Bill is correct, you could likely make your own with (1) socket wrench, extention, and allen socket, or (2) longer L-shaped allen key and a clamp wrench.

Good rock rail install thread here: WK2 Rock Rail Install Pics.

I wouldn't be running around with the rock rails only attached by plastic rivets. The rails are held in by the large bolts on the bottom. Very secure ... The side bolts, which are the ones that need the special tool, are the ones not in place.

I'll look into the other options you guys brought up.

Thanks
