Question Idea!?!?! Grille?!

Ok, so I just got an amazing idea for brilliant black jeeps!! What If you take the altitude black grille and the overland summit Crome honey come mesh insert and combine them!?!?! So black grille with chrome mesh insert? Has anybody done it? Does it work? And does anyone have photos?! Thank-You!!

Re: Idea!?!?! Grille?!

Yes I've done that, my "hybrid" grill has a painted Brillant Black face or shell from an Altitude with the "Summit Chrome" inner mesh. I didn't have to remove the entire front grill to do this swap, just pop out the two grill faces or shells and swap them.

The "Summit Chrome" inner mesh looks almost identical to the Altitude "Platinum Chrome" inner mesh with the painted grill face mounted on it, but doesn't have the somewhat duller, almost polished nickle look of the Altitutde "Platinum Chrome" inner mesh.

The front of my Brilliant Black Summit still has a matching "Summit Chrome" inner mesh grill, along with "Summit Chrome" lower grill trim, & foglight bezels.

Actually all Altitude front grills have painted grill faces with what Jeep calls "Platinum Chrome" inner grill mesh, not to be confused with "Summit Chrome" inner grill mesh!
They are similar but not the same!

Re: Idea!?!?! Grille?!

Sorry no pics, unless you would like me to send a cell phone pic to your phone.

My front grill looks almost identical to a brilliant black Altitude grill in person and if you didn't know there was a slight difference between the Summit Chrome vs. the Altitude Platinum Chrome you wouldn't notice it at all!

Re: Idea!?!?! Grille?!

Did you add any other brilliant black parts in place of chrome? I bet your Jeep looks really sharp with that grill and with the bright polished wheels.

Brilliant Black rear liftgate brow, also from the Altitude parts bin, and still trying to get the OEM painted B/B mirror covers.

I had intended on replacing all those parts with carbon fiber pieces but a lying forum vendor who claimed to sell those parts, but could never actually produce them gave me the runaround! This vendor jerked me around for a year with false promises, then sent me an e-mail saying they were discontinued....... I think you know the story!
