Re: Illuminated dope sills in Altitude

The color is still the same from what I have seen , and yes the best place to tap into was the foot well lighting. With the wiring and removal and putting in the new parts it took me less than 2 hours from start to finish.

^^^still the same meaning what? Same as the older 2011-2013 models or same as 2014+? Both have very different interior night lighting. If it's the greenish 2011-2013 color then there is no way I would put that into a 2014+ as it would just look goofy.

Re: Illuminated dope sills in Altitude

I have the summit sills and they are the 2014+ color the blue that matches all the other blue lights in the front like under seat , the cup holders , etc. The ones that say jeep might be a different color due to being more a generic one than the ones for the summit.

Re: Illuminated dope sills in Altitude

I have the jeep ones installed and they illuminate a white light. I used posi-taps to tap into the driver side footwell light.

The lighting in the photo is likely the cause of that green tinge.

yeah the Summit sills match the 2014+ color since thats what they came factory on. I agree the "Jeep" ones look different based on that picture.

kongamango,
Any chance you can try and take some better pics for us so we can see how these look at night? So you say its just a pure white with no color at all? They seem kinda weird compared to the factory Summit ones in that these have an exposed LED that gets inserted or whatever? I suppose if thats the case you can change the LED to any color you want. If a 2014+ guy wanted to match the purplish/blue all we would have to do is find the matching color LED? Or who knows maybe the white looks fine as is.

Re: Illuminated dope sills in Altitude

If remember correctly, There's a tiny LED bulb attached to the wire harness that plugs into The sill plate.
If you know how to swap the bulb out , you could definitely change the color of the light.

On the plate itself, behind the jeep logo was just a bunch of optic cable.

I'll snap another one when nightfalls.
