Images of Skid Plates on 2012 GC Overland

My first mod to my 2012 Grand Cherokee Overland - was putting skid plates on. I tried finding one with the Offroad II package but had zero luck at that, so putting skids and then tow hooks on next.

Here are some pics I snapped of them installed:

I just bought the same package last night. Same problem, I couldn't find an ORAII. How much were the plates and how difficult was the install. Thanks!

Re: Images of Skid Plates on 2012 GC Overland

A nearby dealership sold me the 3 skid plates for $458 (cost of parts with sales tax) which is a 10% discount off of MSRP. The install is fairly easy for all but the fuel tank skids, where you need to drop & support the fuel tank then put the skids on.

Before I ordered my 2012 4x4 V8 Overland with the ORA II Package, I found only one with the ORA II Package in dealer inventory within 200 miles of central Connecticut.

Nice job with the installation. I'm not that handy.

Re: Images of Skid Plates on 2012 GC Overland

Hello,

I just installed my plates on a 11 Grand Cherokee Laredo. I read in another post that when installing the Transfer case there were two parts that come off. When installing I could not see how you Could install it without removing those two parts. Also, there was a plastic guard that covered some fuel/brake lines that had to come off as well. Are both these True? If not for the fuel/brake lines, is there another plate that needs to be purchased to cover those?

Thanks,
-Patrick

No problem at all, glad it all worked out. Nothing like an uneven creeper, lol!

Interested also, went on some easy trails yesterday but still a little banged up in some tricky areas. Newbie mistakes and spotter scared of wasps lol.
