Try a Magic eraser! The ink should come right off . . .

Re: Ink on Leather Seat!!

Sorry man that sucks.
Those erasers are very abrasive and will remove the topcoat No spray on product can replace that coating so the area will wear faster than any area around it. Sorry. Patience and the appropriate cleaner and tool. Think soft toothbrush appropriate soap

Time is a big deal
Always test a like panel out of the way..never spray directly on the leather, try small amounts first, you can't go back. Make sure what you are on is even leather, it's all coated but depending it might be a vinyl section..ink smears

90% ISO alcohol wet a cotton towel and rub gently, not hard.
White Vinegar wet the area/micro fiber and give a shot
Dish Soap/Dawn is still king. I go 50/50 with distilled water for most things but it stains so 100/1 meaning soapy water and a rag/brush
KABOOM too aggressive for me, but a rag and a quick wipe.
Hair spray cheap stuff, lots of opinions but it's mostly alcohol n setting agents no clue, wipe away
Peanut butter kind of, cover, wait , rub, reapply?
Original Chapstick. Apply heavily over the stain wait until it breaks up, a day or so? Then reapply if needed..it works for many things.
And there's a boatload of Leather dedicated products out..

After and even during these, wipe with a damp clean rag then dry rag, just keep checking what's going on.
But after wipe clean completely and dry then apply your favorite product or not.

My local leather/canvas guy might charge me $20 for a small mistake if I don't want to to take the risk myself, he's a pro.

Re: Ink on Leather Seat!!

Saddle Soap and elbow grease should get it out and not harm the leather at all.

Ink on Leather Seat!!

I've not tried this one but I trust the brand for leather care products:

http://www.autogeekmobile.net/leathe...-ink-away.html

You better act fast, it'll be much harder to remove later!

Re: Ink on Leather Seat!! Update-Gone!

Thanks everyone for the tips, so I called my detail guy & he can't do anything till Saturday, everything on the internet says not to wait long; decided to go to an auto parts store to see what leather cleaners they have and a block from the store there is a detail shop I have never used. It's 4:30 Friday so I pulled in, go inside and a "worker" comes out of the shop, I tell him, he says "I dunno let me get something" comes outside and with a spray bottle and clean cloth it is gone in less than 30 seconds!! I could not believe it, he then says "just put some conditioner on it." Walk inside and he sees me pull out money & says "oh $5 bucks I guess." I hand him a $20 and said "keep it", he was shocked. Went home and used some lexol cleaner & conditioner on the seat and today in brite sunlite you can see NOTHING!! I asked him what the liquid was and he said it was just an "all purpose cleaner" that they use on interiors?! I am wondering if this "frost color leather" on the seat bottom of my Limited is real leather or treated with something or.....................? So anyway, a mild liquid cleaner worked in this instance, in case anyone else has a similiar situation. i think I will stop in at some point and try to find out what the "brand" is that they are using, would like to have some!! Dave

Re: Ink on Leather Seat!!

It is my understanding that the seat insert is real leather. Unlikely a hide though, probably " bonded" leather which has a vinyl coating.

This ^ would make sense as to why it possibly " gave up" so easily and I cannot see any signs of the black ink. Guess now I will have to find some sort of a cover for the seat as I spend so much of my "office time" in the Jeep. Dave

From the manual;

"MOPAR® Total Clean is specifically recommended for
leather upholstery.
Your leather upholstery can be best preserved by regular
cleaning with a damp soft cloth. Small particles of dirt
can act as an abrasive and damage the leather upholstery
and should be removed promptly with a damp cloth.
Stubborn soils can be removed easily with a soft cloth
and MOPAR® Total Clean. Care should be taken to avoid
soaking your leather upholstery with any liquid. Please
do not use polishes, oils, cleaning fluids, solvents, detergents,
or ammonia-based cleaners to clean your leather
upholstery. Application of a leather conditioner is not

required to maintain the original condition."

Re: Ink on Leather Seat!!

I have found that Naphta works very well for removing just about any stain from car interiors.

Re: Ink on Leather Seat!!

I've used Surf City Dash Away to remove ink from my previous Lincoln Bridge of Weir leather -- on the white stripe. Dash Away is my favorite interior cleaner/protectant, and I know it's not going to harm anything.
