Installed some LED reverse bulbs (pics inside)

2015 overland high Altitude

Did the putco plasma 7440s for the outside

Did the Phillips 921 for the inside

I'm obviously not the first to do this, but I figured for reference someone might be interested in seeing some more results.

First things first, it's a 10 minute job. Literally two clips you pull out and pop off the hatch trim. Takes as long to twist the bulbs into the housing as it does to almost get to them. Results are great. Will say the camera is still kinda garbage and regardless of how bright it is back there the back up camera holds it back from being perfect!

Will say they reach far, very bright and the nice thing is hey actually almost wrap the entire way around the car, could see the lights all the way up to the back of the front door.

Wow those look insane! I have a question though, and I know cameras can do lots of funky things and play lots of tricks depending on settings, especially at night, but now I'm worried that they will be too bright! Is that the case or is that the camera making them seem brighter than they really are?
I will be receiving my Putco plasma a for both 7440 and 921 Saturday and gosh I hope they aren't obnoxiously bright lol.

The camera produces flare that on some shots makes it look more obnoxious than others. The output is a crisp white color that has a very wide distribution. From directly behind it is a bit tough to stare at for an extended period of time, however in most cases you will be in reverse for 10-30 seconds max anyways. I was able to see through my tinted rear window with ease and using my mirrors or looking out of the side windows proved to be no difficult task either. I am happy with them for sure. I wish I could find a replacement camera to put in the place of the factory one. That would make it perfect.

Re: Installed some LED reverse bulbs (pics inside)

Alright thanks. Well turns out my LEDs will be arriving today so I will see how they look. Worst case if all 4 is just way too intense for my liking I can run only the middle 921s and sell the outer 7440s. Last week I ran only the Philips 921s and even those were good on their own.

Those things look bright!! If one of you has a chance, would you mind posting a pic of the reverse camera? I'm curious how washed-out the picture is. The reverse lights are one of the few easy mods I want to do that I haven't yet.
