Installing a 5.7L Hemi badge on rear if you have a V8?

Just curious what your thoughts are? I know some like the clean look and some prefer to be identified as having a Hemi V8, besides the dual tailpipes.

I think just one badge at the right rear looks nice?

I never liked badges. I tend to take them off my cars, not put them on.

I did read that they decided against installing Hemi badges on the WK2 to appear more "green" and to appease the environmentalists.

I was recently thinking about doing this. Considering just the HEMI badge without the 5.7 though. I just like the looks of the black HEMI with the chrome around it and thought it would balance the 4x4 and Overalnd badge on the other side. There's a long thread about this on this forum somewhere, with pictures from those that did it.

Having badges only on the left does not look symetrical so you have the option of removing what was there or putting something on there to balance it out.

I would love to add a Simple V6 to the rear of my car to balance out the chrome on the rear hatch.

While I am talking about symetry I would love to add the dual exhaust to my car as well to make the rear more symetrical with two tips HA HA.

Maybe I will wait until the 8 speed trannies surface and trade in for a HEMI

Overland badge, 4x4 badge, Jeep logo on the brow, and then HEMI? It's going to start to look like magnets on the side of refrigerator back there. :)

I bought my Laredo with the OR1 package. The factory forgot to put on the Trail Rated badge (it's even listed on the sticker as supposed to be there). I was going to bug the dealer about it, but I decided I like the cleaner look.

there is a lengthy thread on this topic somewhere .... and got pretty heated, iirc.

Personally, I completely debadged my tailgate and added a "Hemi" badge, similar to yours, but without the "5.7" part at the bottom.

Here's the original Hemi badge - to add or not to add - thread: http://jeepgarage.org/showthread.php?t=19844&highlight=hemi+badge. 12 pages of quality discussion and pics. :)

Screen capture from the DVD owners manual: http://jeepgarage.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=6221&d=1301191208 - shows the HEMI badge - see, it's supposed to be there. Environmentalist / Green Movement pressure and just saving money is probably why it was left off.

Yeah, I agree. Come spring that is the exact badge I will be putting on mine.

I know. That makes me want to put the badge on even more. I was driving near a Prius a few weeks ago and they were driving very slow. I slammed on the gas as I raced by to make sure they heard the Hemi.
LOL
I hope you didn't blow them right into the ditch. :D

Do what you like to your car....
Zactly. ;)

In the San Francisco area people are into "hybrids" ... my hearing must be bad 'cause I thought I they were saying "hemi"!

And as "andhy" says, it's YOUR vehicle so do whatever makes you happy. I have put the "5.7 L / HEMI" on my WK2, and I have seen others on the road who have done the same. I have a picture at http://jeepgarage.org/album.php?albumid=83&pictureid=921. The 5.7 letters match the 4X4, and the HEMI complements the Overland to maintain symmetry.

They are vertically aligned with the "4x4" and "Overland" on the driver side. The Overland oval is taller than the small HEMI badge. But of course one can move them around a little to make it look different, and maintain the symmetry.
