Installing seat memory to a Laredo.

Ok so I got the high end package Laredo and there are a few things from the limited I'd love to install. The seat memory, the blinking mirrors, and the HID headlights. I know they all have their our issues involved in installing them, but has anyone tried this yet? I have read a few people j stalling the head lights, which is last on my list. I want to tackle the seat memory first.

Anyone have suggestions on where to start with this? Will it be plug and play? Will I need the computer programmed to accept that feature?

Re: Installing seat memory to a Laredo.

I would love to see this be done.

You would need to finds someone that knows if:
  1. Is the wiring harness is any different between a laredo X and a Limited.
  2. The difference between the comfort control module
It would be good if there was some reference material on how the system works then you could figure out what component controls and stores the memory function and narrow down a list of parts then determine how feasible it would be and where dealer connect would allow this to be added.

I am waiting on a few more parts for my factory bixenon install.

I have already installed the blinking mirror housings but I have not gone to the dealer to see if they can be activated.

I don't really need the memory seats but I would love to be able to get my mirror to tip in reverse since I have to manually do it when I am backing into my driveway.

Has anyone tried this yet. I am still looking into whether or not the computer module will recognize the seat button module and if there is a pre-existing harness.

Re: Installing seat memory to a Laredo.

I have removed my driver side door panel a few times and there is no connectors unaccounted for in the door, so unless the memory button module comes with a harness that plugs into the door module then there might be a differnt harness.

I don't have access to a WK2 with memory seats otherwise I would try to answer that question for you.

Wish I had the memory seats as well as a few other extras. I knew I should have bought a limited!

Re: Installing seat memory to a Laredo.

I gave this a thought some months back.

And was hunting down the parts

the Memory Seat module attaches to the underside of the Driver's seat it cost about $52.

The Memory seat button on the driver's doors costs about $30

It seems that the seat adjuster (lower seat frame) may be different that costs about $500

Then the actual seat adjuster switch needs to be changed that costs about $35

And you will also need to upgrade the wing mirrors to limited models if you want the mirror position to be retained by the module because they have position sensors in them.

and I still have not figured out if the wiring is already there or not and whether the seat memory switch is part of the door harness or if it plugs into the door module and sends the signal by CAN.

This is looking like one of those mods that would lend itself well to someone that has access to a totalled WK2 with all those parts.

Maybe someone else can bother Milous to fill in the blanks, I bother him enough and eventhough he doesn't mind I don't want to wear out my welcome.

I wonder if this can be done without the $500 modulator. I could manage to swing all the rest though.

Re: Installing seat memory to a Laredo.

I just did some quick research and spoke with my local Jeep dealership.

Module Memory Seat: 5026615AM (with power telescoping), or
Module Memory Seat: 5026614AM (no power telescoping)
Memory Switch: 5JF97DX9AC

BUT...the dealership told me I would need a new computer (they cannot reprogram the current one). That would cost $$. Which makes this mod not worth it. I would have it done if it costed a few hundred but not 1000(+).

I'm not sure if this is all true, as some of these dealerships aren't very knowledgable. Maybe somebody else would like to do some homework to confirm...
