installing the Mopar pedals...what's so hard about the Brake install?

Hi all. I've heard that installing the mopar aluminum brake pedal is a difficult process. For those of you who have done this install, can you please elaborate?

It's just not a click on like the gas pedal and takes some effort to install. You won't be able to go out there and throw it on in 2 sec's. Just lube it with soap or heat it in some hot water are some tips I read before I installed mine. I just used a flathead screw driver to guide the rubber edge firmly around the pedal.

It's a great mod you see every time you open the door. They really make the interior look better.

Re: installing the Mopar pedals...what's so hard about the Brake install?

I couldnt work out what the problem was either sprayed a bit of silicon spray on the edges used a stubby bladed screw driver and levered on in less than a minute

Re: installing the Mopar pedals...what's so hard about the Brake install?

I am going to pickup a set of these pedals from spare parts when I collect my Blackhawk tomorrow. They look pretty easy to fit.

I'll report back with any issues or tips from my install.

Re: installing the Mopar pedals...what's so hard about the Brake install?

So I picked up my new Blackhawk late this afternoon and got a set of these Mopar pedals from spare parts while I was at the dealer.

Took me about 5 min to fit both. Wife boiled a cattle of water for me and i put the brake pedal in boiling water while i fitted the accelerator pedal.

I let the brake pedal sit in the hot water for a couple of minutes. When i removed it from the water the rubber softened up a lot. I rubbed a very small amount of car wash solution along the inner side edges and top inner edge of the brake pedal as lubricant.

Slid the pedal on from the bottom up onto the brake pedal base and with a small flat-head screwdriver I worked it along top edge to get the rubber over the metal pedal base. This took a couple of minutes.

They look great
