So I was browsing eBay and stumbled upon these aftermarket LED tail lights. At first I clicked the link thinking they are probably just oem tail lights, but upon closer inspection sure enough, a company has finally made a OEM replacement tail light that has LED signal and brake lights!!! Click the link and look closer, it actually has internal LED chips. This is how our Jeeps should have come from the factory!!!!
Even though I am running the V3 Tritons, these sure look like they could be nice, and without all the extra parts required for kits like the Tritons. I couldn't find any additional pics or videos. Unfortunately, all I could find so far is the standard Laredo/Limited/Overland/Summit lamps and not the darker red SRT/Altitude/High Altitude lamps.
What do you guys think?

I like the darkened reverse sections. Not too sure about the extra LEDs on the inner portions, what function would they have?
I think you're misunderstanding it, those inner LEDs are the brake and signals! That's what's cool about these is they are basically identical to OEM, but have fully integrated LED brake and signal bulbs where as our stock lamps use a regular bulb. Like I said this is how our Grand Cherokees should have come from the factory!

Awesome Find!!!!

Very exciting.

I hope they have integrated resistors to avoid hyper-flash.

Im dealing with that right now on my Wrangler and its not a huge deal but it doesnt go unnoticed either.

I have resistor harnesses for my JW Speaker headlights....resistors get WAY too hot too touch and I STILL get a flicker. GRRRRRRR!!!!

I also wish filament bulbs and fixtures would fade away into (mostly fond) memories of the 20th century. I do sooooo much off roading that the incandescent filament cannot hold up to the vibration and I replace 2-3 sets a year.

I'll place my bets that the next iteration of WK2 will have full LED taillights and everyone will be buying a set (including me).

I hate that Jeep made the running lights all fancy in the rear with LED's, but left the brake and backup bulbs as regular bulbs. All style and safety took a backseat.

Yeah its tough figuring out how things work in the automotive industry. Like how has the Compass had LEDs for years, but the flagship Grand Cherokee doesn't? Its almost as if they purposely don't do certain things so they have things they can change during mid-cycle refreshes and what not. Atleast they added pretty cool front amber LEDs on the '14+. And in the mean time my rears look amazing with the V3 Tritons! :D

I have the philips leds from xenondepot in my brake lights, turn signals, 921 reverse lights and 7443 lower fogs. I did have.to go to ebay to find a 7440 cree bulb for the inside backup lamp as philips only makes 7440 in red.

A nice look but I hope they are a lot brighter than the picture! :(

Well the LED light ring would be identical to stock, the inner LED's that would be for brake and turn should be same brightness as any other factory setup as well. Even though its aftermarket, they have standards to meet as well. Brightness will not be a factor...probably even uses the same LED chips used in any other factory housing.
I think user JeepGC015 will be happy with them.

Hey everyone so I got my LED tail lights today and couldn't wait to seem them installed so I went to an auto shop en got them installed. First let me say they look as if these were the ones supposed to come factory installed in the first place. Second, they work perfectly, but the corner tails come with a small box which is to avoid getting computer errors and the fast blinking you get when you change from a normal bulb to and LED bulb that doesn't fit behind the tail light. This complicated a little bit the install because as you will see in the pictures, the guy had to dismount almost all the trunk panels inside to access the inside part of the truck since the only solution he found to storing the little box was to drill a hole and pass the cable through it and leave the box on the inside part (ok I think you'll get it in the pictures lol). Anyways all in all it took around 2 hours to get everything done. At first I got cold feet when I saw he had to take all those panels off but he really knew what he was doing and everything came out perfect! So if anyone here really wants this mod I think its really worth it, just take it to an auto shop that has someone that know how to work electrical and how to take everything off and put it back where it was. The guy charged me $90 bucks for everything which I found great considering all the work he did.

Oh man, I don't know why it won't open I actually could play them after I uploaded them. Is there a way to upload them differently? Meanwhile just so you know guys the inner tail lights (the ones that are on the tailgate) also light up when you hit the brakes making the tail lights seem fuller lit when braking. If the videos can't be seen at all I'll try to take a picture of only the brake lights on, I put two pictures before this post where you can see one with only the surrounding LEDs on and the other one was one I took with the caution lights blinking.

Lights look awesome! One more thing to add to the mod list.

Videos played for me on my laptop. Not on my phone though. Maybe try uploading to YouTube if you can. That seems to be compatible with all devices.
