Interior lights install

Trying to install a 15 piece LED interior kit I got from eBay but having difficulty with the dome lights. This kit only brings 2 dome lights that I want to use for the rear handle lights which appear to be the same as the front dome lights. But when I insert the new bulbs they turn on but shut off. Only way they remain on is by pushing the button to turn on.

Also now when I insert the oem bulb same thing happens as the LEd and doesn't remain on.

Any suggestions?

Re: Interior lights install

? They do shut off unless you push the button to have them remain on. When you unlock your vehicle or open a door they will also turn on, then back off after a certain amount of time.

Is that what you are referring to?

Re: Interior lights install

Yes. But all others remain on. Then they turn off eventually.

This is what I do:

Unlock doors, all lights turn on and remain on for a few mins >
Then I begin taking off plastic trim - followed by bulb. Bulb remains on while I take it off >
Now that I insert new bulb light won't come on from new bulb.
And if I try to re insert oem bulb that doesn't turn on.

Only way they remain is if u continually hold the push button which would mean the passengers will need to hold the button if they want light.

I'm I doing something wrong? I know bulbs are not burnt cause they flash but don't remain on.

Used this guide

Jeep Grand Cherokee Rear Passenger Reading Light Bulb Replacement Guide - 2011 To 2016 WK2 - Picture Illustrated Automotive Maintenance DIY Instructions

The sliding new bulb is where i'm stuck. When i slide in bulb it seems loose. Perhaps thats why it doesn't remain on? Is there a trick to sliding the bulb in???

Annoyed!
