Re: Interior trim on a 2015 Overland

I did a vinyl wrap in black brushed aluminum on mine. I only did the main pieces so far.

Nice work. I imagine the color choices are endless. Can you send me some info on who did it. Or if it was you, the steps involved?
Thanks

Re: Interior trim on a 2015 Overland

I ordered the vinyl from eBay. Picked up a sheet for about $15 shipped. 24"x60". It's sticky on one side and very pliable.

The tough part is trimming. In these jeeps they plastic weld all the chrome trim to the interior trim so you have to cut with an exacto knife around the edges. Definitely helps to have an extra set of hands help you and a heatgun/blow dryer to loosen up the vinyl. The nice part is it's very forgiving. If you have a bubble or wrinkle you just pull it up and push it back down again. There are lots of tutorials on YouTube. The vinyl can be stretched over corners as well. I also bought a sheet of gloss black and did my tail light bezels. $15 instead of the $150+ for the srt ones. This was my first time using the vinyl and I found it very easy to work with.

I like the taillight bezel wrap idea. A few others have done it too with positive results.

Great job!

Re: Interior trim on a 2015 Overland

Interesting how Jeep describes the wood trim. I have a 14 Overland with the Moroccan black interior. My trim is described as open pore Nador brown walnut.

Nothing could be further from the truth... it's sealed pore glossy and so black that the only way you notice the grain in the wood is if it's hit by direct sunlight.

LOL...

Re: Interior trim on a 2015 Overland

I hear ya. The brochures all said it was the brown Nador that came with the black interior (2015), Chrysler got back to me and claim its brown zebrano. I was able to change my order just in time. I'm not going to know for sure until it shows up next week.
