Jeep factory HID wire harness or aftermarket

Hoping someone can tell me if this is a factory HID wire harness or one that is being made so JGC owner with standard headlamp can switch over to the HID's. If this is an aftermarket harness does anyone know who made it and what functions it will perform.

Thanks

Jeep factory HID wire harness or aftermarket

That is definitely NOT a factory harness. The load resistors and inline fuse holder right away screams "aftermarket."

Re: Jeep factory HID wire harness or aftermarket

That 100% is aftermarket. you can tell by needing additional grounds. etc

first what year is your GC.

Jeep_Addicted a member on here created OEM HID harness direct plugins but I am not sure he is still in the game or not.

The harness I purchased from him for my 2011 Wk2 Worked PERFECT!!

the expensive part is find Complete OEM HID headlights expect to Spend Ching Ching.

here is what a real harness looks like. all Plug n Play.

xJoshxx, I have a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, altitude. Yes I know Ching Ching on Hid's. I was thinking it was aftermarket and that it may have be made by ProjectoReteofits but not sure. Thanks all for the info and if anyone can confirm who made it that would be great.

Hey Josh. I am currently on the waiting list for this exact same harness from Jeep_addicted. Did you encounter any issues when installing your harness to your jeep? Mine is a 2014 Jeep GC Limited. Any error codes being thrown? Do they perform just like OEM ones found in the overland models like the DRL shutting off when the turn signal is activated? Direct plug and play?

That picture that he posted was definitely not one of Jeep_addicted's harnesses. Way too many things missing and no where near the quality look and feel of his harness.

I have one of his harnesses on my '14 Limited, running SRT8 headlights. There are no error codes and all DRL/turn signal functions work just like factory.

Her's a video from about 10 months ago. This was a prototype harness, I have since upgraded to his final version, which works perfectly.

Not to hijack the OP's thread, but thanks for the video. Nice to see the functions of his harness, as I am personally contemplating it as well.

One question, do the DRL always flicker when the HID's are on? Or is that only because it was was a prototype and has been rectified since? Or better yet, a camera issue? I'm specifically referring to the first half of your video, as they stopped flickering in the second half.

The flickering is a camera thing. No flickering in person.
