I know its not a earth shattering modification or anything crazy like that, but either way I like keeping these forums going and I know everyone loves pictures.
I just installed the Sharkfin antenna from Visual Garage on my 2012 Overland and im very happy with the results. As minor of a mod as it is, it really does accent the Jeep very well. Reception is as good if not better than the original antenna. Color match was close enough and installation was simple. Took a couple weeks to receive it, but other than that im very pleased.
Here are some pictures of my Overland to show the antenna. Please excuse the gloomy weather and dirty Jeep.
Well its weird because prior to installing the antenna when I was holding it up against the car it looked like it was just a hair lighter in color. Now that its installed and on the roof you cant tell any difference. Either way though like I said when its up on the roof it looks identical.
Take a look here. For some reason the haven't had the JGC listed. If you email them, they will send you a link and even a invoice in Paypal if you want.
For anyone that installed the shark fin, do you know if it's easy or hard to remove and will it leave any marks? My GC is leases, so I would have to put back the original antenna when I return it in a few years.

takes 30sec to remove and you only remove the whip. THe original base remains on the roof and the Sharkfin attaches to it withe a small screw and it then sticks over top the OEM base.
I just installed mine last week and after sending the wrong color originally, I'd have to say it's a perfect match to my Dk Charcoal and reception is perfect.
I haven't installed it, but I believe it's just held on with 3M tape like the emblems. A little heat, some fishing line or plastic putty knife and it will come off pretty easily.

No tips or issues for you it was a very simple and straight forward installation. Also, like I said in my original post AM and FM work as good or better than prior to the sharkfin install. I don't think this antenna has anything to do with the GPS so obviously that's fine. As for XM, again not sure if this antenna is even for that, but either way XM works like it always has...just fine.
The longer I have had this antenna on the more and more I like the look. I highly recommend it.
Man that looks great. I went to the web site and they don't show a GC in the options. Did you have to special order yours or what do I have to do to get one.
Thanks.
I just got mine in today (Inferno Red) and the color was way off. It is kind of a burnt orange. Emailed customer service and now they want me to take pictures of it and send them so they can adjust their color...What? I responded and now am waiting to hear back from them to see what they are going to do about it.
