Just say NO to Chrome!

I'm starting on that journey, you know the one...getting rid of da chrome!

Got some good pricing at Just For Jeeps on door handles and side mirrors. Parts came in today. One of the door handles is gouged.

Have to call the shop I scheduled with for Wednesday to cancel. Maybe in a couple weeks.

Sweet. Definitely not a fan of chrome on white.

Have fun doing the front door handles. What a PITA the fronts were LOL

Those do look amazing. I'm not a huge fan of chrome on white either. I don't want to paint/plastidip/vinyl wrap anything since Arizona heat will destroy everything...I know NC heat was ruthless on paint and vinyl...POST FINISHED PICS!!!!

It'll look great when done. I didn't know Just For Jeeps would price up mirrors, what did they run you if you don't mind me asking?

I bought Laredo mirrors, the least expensive since I only need the cap part. Mirrors were $186 ea. Door handles were $91 ea.

If you are considering the same process, do your research. I spent hours online looking through part numbers and prices. Most of these "Mopar Parts" Websites will not negotiate. In fact when I asked about price matching, one hung up on me, another claimed his computer went down and would call me back - never did. Only Just For Jeeps took the time to go through each part, making sure it would fit, and even discounted their price. And when I mentioned this forum Matt took an extra 5% off.

Thanks for the suggestion, but yeah I already did that, twice see the attached photo.

The one I'm de-chroming is my Overland, which also came with the Altitude package. I didn't realize when I bought it, Jeep's version of the Overland Altitude is with black wheels, black badges, but CHROME everything else. In fact my neighbor has the same model in black, and only then we both realized this is how they're built. Apparently Jeep has different trims within trims.

I just lifted the front with Bilsteins, so now I'm going to get rid of all that chrome, with the mirrors and handles being done first.

Still waiting to hear back from JFJ on the gouged door handle, but I'll keep this updated as the parts go on.

That's why I love jeep. So many trims to choose from. Congrats.

Why does everyone hate chrome so much? I have a cherry red Cherokee and I think the chrome looks great on it lol

Chrome looks decent on certain trims, but on the white exteriors (in my opinion) the non-chrome looks a lot better. Half of the purchasing decision for my white 75th was the no-chrome/dark badges/dark tinted tail lights/black bezels

Re: Just say NO to Chrome!

Beauty in the eye of the beholder.
I prefer chrome on white models have that combo on a GC Overland) and am in process of blacking out my GC trailhawk ( even removing the obnoxious red trim on all exterior and the oddly designed decal on the hood).

I do like chrome on other colors but near as much as on white.

Go figure.
