Laredo Roof Rails on Overland?

Hi All,

I don't plan to carry anything on the roof of my jeep ('12 Overland) and like the simple clean lines of the Laredo roof rails.

I search and found threads on installing the non-Laredo rails on a Laredo or the Yakima rails but I couldn't find any info on replacing the Overland roof rails with the Laredo rails.

Anyone know if it's a simple non-surgical swap?

Thanks in advance,

=Bill

Re: Laredo Roof Rails on Overland?

I not having any luck finding the Jeep part numbers for the roof rails for the WK2 Laredo.

I found a bunch of OEM part sites with drill downs for parts but they don't list the actual part numbers and I can't see any differentiation between the rails for the various trim levels.

Can anybody help?

Re: Laredo Roof Rails on Overland?

The most base base laredo also comes with them.

Why not just have them filled and have no rack at all?

Re: Laredo Roof Rails on Overland?

My parts book doesn't seem to list the base decorative rail. The two rails do mount to the roof differently, not sure what it takes to go back. I don't recall anyone wanting to do that. Perhaps some paint?

Hmm. Any emotional attachement to them? In other words would you want to sell them?

Long story short, I broke my back many years ago and use the roof rails to hobble along the side to get to my wheelchair in the back. I'd prefer to go rack-less LOL

Thanks for looking it up. I'm cool with trying different fastners.

Yeah, it looks like I'm the guinea pig for this LOL

Re: Laredo Roof Rails on Overland?

Be careful, while fooling with the fasteners, to not poke a hole in the side air bags that lay under some of that area.
