Leather on High Altitude

Can anyone confirm if the leather seats on 16 High Altitude is real leather or bonded leather+pleather? I have perforated/edge welted seats.

Leather on High Altitude

Per Jeep, the perforated seats are nappa leather, the edges/bolsters of the seats are protein-vinyl apparently better than just regular vinyl.

I'm pretty sure it's all leather.

You would think a 50K plus vehicle will have real leather.

Well if thats the case its a darn good vinyl because it looks and feels real to me. Also, FWIW I'm sure a vinyl type material would wear a lot better than real leather. 40-50K these days really isn't that much in terms of SUV price (believe it or not), and technically that's probably on the cheap side especially compared to real luxury SUVs.

Re: Leather on High Altitude

I found this: Scott Evans Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram SRT | New Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram dealership in Carrollton, GA 30116 so if true, the 2013 Viper uses some protein vinyl as well.

Re: Leather on High Altitude

Ok so looking at the actual High Altitude seats (probably applies to SRT/Summit as well) the entire front of the seat is for sure real leather. The sides, rear, and head rests appear to be vinyl. This makes sense though as you wouldn't really want those real leather anyway. The rear seats appear to be almost entirely leather except for head rests and a very small portion of the lower front outer seats. This is consistent with other manufacturers as well especially in this price range.

Leather on High Altitude

The side bolsters of my seats wear like real leather My 2014 was the same way so I made sure to be extra careful when I got my 15... Sure enough, looks like shit already.

Re: Leather on High Altitude

Yeah those side bolsters are real leather. In the Grand Cherokee the entire seating surface is real leather, then vinyl on the sides and rear.

Dang that kinda sucks.. For vinyl, it wears bad. I'll have to take a pic when I get it back from the shop.

No, every single part of the seating surface is real leather as is the seat back. The sides and rear are vinyl. I think I know what part you're talking about as it always tends to get a few wrinkles or creases in the area. Basically the part that gets the most stress from getting in and out...right?

^^Yes that's right. And sorry, I knew it was leather from what you stated but for some reason I thought vinyl.. I was distracted.
