Re: LED Amber Turn Signals

I was able to get them installed in my tail lights tonight. When I start up the car and drive it I still get the hyper flash with the signals.

I noticed two orange fuses were in the box but I did not put them in anywhere. Did you have to use those?

Re: LED Amber Turn Signals

I didn't have fuses, just ballasts with the Triton. My TLS taillight kit came with resistors.

The V-LEDs site install instructions mention installing fuses in the control box to activate the resistor mode (and that it gets hot).

Re: LED Amber Turn Signals

Hey all, new to the forum! And sorry to bring up an old thread.

Anyway, looking to do the amber LEDs to my 2012 WK2 (Overland). Any idea which socket it will be? On VLEDs website it lists either STD Base or the CK Base? Just thought I'd ask before tearing into my harness to check the kind.

Thanks!

Quoting my own post, however I took the day to check my WK2. Turns out it's standard, not CK. Hope that helps other WK2 Overland owners out there. Went to order? Backordered. No worries though, can't wait to get them. Did get the resistors too, just in case.

Re: LED Amber Turn Signals

the v3 leds for the brake light should be ordered with the hyperflash resistors. They are called vlr6 and its an option when ordering on vleds.

The inner tail light 194 360 leds do not need resistors according tovled.

Re: LED Amber Turn Signals

I've received mine for the front parking lights with the resistors, but I am running into a fitment issue. I can't for the life of me figure out the screw settings. Whether it be the 3mm or 4mm to use, with or without the ring & where to set the screws in the multiple holes around the neck of the light itself. If there is anyone who has installed them out there, could I ask you to remove one of them, and take a pic or tell me which size screws to use, collar or not & which screw spacing to use. Everything I have tried has not lined up. Thx in advance.

Re: LED Amber Turn Signals

You don't need the ring and I can't remember which screws I used but you will need to use one of the rubber gaskets I think its the thicker one.

You need a snug fit so it does not vibrate out.

I know some people are afraid to do certain mods because they don't want to hurt something. Just becareful and try the combinations until it works.

I was fortunate to have a spare pair of headlights to do the test fitting in, but when it was time to install into the actual headlights it was still a little difficult at first; the second one was easier.

This is what it looked like right before I installed it. Same screw height as the pic (2 screws). You'll really need clear access to the back of the light or as much as you can get bc you're going to have to press them in firmly while twisting. I really had to use some extra strength to twist them in.

Re: LED Amber Turn Signals

It's not letting me add a pic. It's the 3rd pic on the first page of this thread.
