Re: LED Backup Light Install with Pics

Ordered mine from Ebay Friday and they came in today!
Two very good sellers with good products and the prices were excellent. Here's the link to the main T20 bulbs in the rear light shell :
T20 7440 7441 White CREE Q5 LED Bulbs 12 5050 SMD 7W Back Up Bulb Projector Lens | eBay

And here were the two 194's on the tail gate :

Error Free Canbus White CREE LED Backup Reverse Lights Bulbs T15 921 168 194 X2 | eBay

One thing to note : When taking off the rear lift gate bottom panel, you may discover that some of the yellow plastic fasteners are either missing or broken. Or at least they were on mine...2 broken, 2 missing!

There are 4 long green plastic fasteners on the bottom of the panel (2 each side) and they can come loose from their cup like "captive" fitting on the liftgate panel bottom. Worry not, you can get the panel back in place using the yellow fasteners toward the top of the panel and then gently lever the bottom of the green fasteners back into their captive fitting with a long screwdriver. The bottom panel will then push back into place. Go around the perimeter of the panel pushing in and also push in on the middle of the panel as there is a fastener there. FYI - I was missing two fasteners from the top of the panel where it curves upward in the middle .

They look really good....nice bright, white light !

Thanks to the earlier posters for giving us a head's up on this.

I have a 2014 Overland as well, and the lights look pretty white even before the bulb change. Have you noticed much of a change in light temperature or brightness? It seems like such a simple fix, but I need to be able to justify it first.

Don't know if it has been mentioned , but Precision LED has the best replacement bulbs out there. I recommend the premium version...

I highly doubt the 10x-20x mark up though. I did a full interior LED swap for less than $7. Unless I'm missing something, there can't be that much of a difference between precision and ebay

Re: LED Backup Light Install with Pics

Well I have a whole bunch of Ebay leds and they were just OK. I was not that happy with them. Precision LED sent me a complete interior set for my 2012 Overland. The foot area bulbs were a little bit long. I couldn't put the covers on so they sent me the premium version which I didn't' realize they made for no charge. They were shorter and 2 times brighter than the ebay and regular Precision bulbs. I'm hooked on them. My interior is all Precision LED bulbs.

Yeah I had a few questions for them and they were very quick to respond. I think it's a given that the customer support from precision is probably better than the average seller on eBay. My point in questioning you wasn't to say you were wrong or wasting money, just to raise the point that there are cheaper alternatives. In case anyone else is looking to do this mod, I too am happy with the output from my eBay lights. Less than $10 and thirty minutes later, my car is much brighter and whiter than it was before.

Re: LED Backup Light Install with Pics

Well I probably screw up and ordered from the wrong guy. I bought these and only 4 of the bulbs were correct and even those were not as good as Precision. They gave me back half my money and sent me more and those were wrong too.. I'm sure there are good ebay bulbs out there.

Re: LED Backup Light Install with Pics

Very noticeable actually.......much brighter !

The bulbs I bought (see links) appear to be very good quality bulbs and at very reasonable prices.

Re: LED Backup Light Install with Pics

Will these bulbs work with the new 2014 style tail lights. I assume they wouldn't change the bulb even though the design changed
