Re: LED Fog Light Replacement, need confirmation

I would think 4300k would match the headlights.

the stock headlights are around 4300K.....BUT...its hard to match a halogen housing lamp to a projector housing lamp. This is a decidion your gonna have to make for yourself. Its all subjective and to your liking. Send a PM to Xenondepot to discuss the Putco Nova bulbs. They are the experts.

Re: LED Fog Light Replacement, need confirmation

Hey everyone, I'm new here, and new to the Jeep scene, but have been a car enthusiast for as long as I can remember... Anyway, it's my understanding that these trucks are CANBUS equipped. I know for the headlamps to retrofit HID's you need a CANBUS ballast, my question is for the fog lights is a canbus LED bulb needed to not get a "bulb out" error message, or will any LED work as long as the fitment is correct. Thanks in advance.

The fog lights out are simply current detected if there is any detection (no current light must be out). So LEDs with at least the same current or amperage as OEM will work. LEDs do not need a ballast. 7.5 watt LEDs work in mine just fine. With the fogs you have to worry about the housing melting, so you don't want to use hot bulbs more that 7 or 8 watts. LEDs in this rating run cool, so there is no heat issue with them.

Re: LED Fog Light Replacement, need confirmation

Cold Case can you share with us what you have for Fog LED's and where you got them? Are they Amber or White bulbs? Since they're Fog lights, I'd be interested in maybe some intense Amber/Yellow color bulbs if there is such a thing.....

thanks!

Ah, is that the price for a pair? It looked like per each. Also, do they require trimming to fit? Who's tried them so far?

Re: LED Fog Light Replacement, need confirmation

i bought LED fogs from V-Leds for about $60. Don't waste your money on cheap ebay bulbs. My friend had one that broke off inside his fog housing and basically scratched the hell out of his fog housing.

If your gonna do it, do it right and spend the money for a quality product.

These are the ones i purchased:

Re: LED Fog Light Replacement, need confirmation

V-LEDs and all the other guys are using the same factories that make the ebay bulbs. You might find a few that aren't, but the majority of that industry is just reselling.

Re: LED Fog Light Replacement, need confirmation

So what are the best LED fogs for the WK2? Do any match the HIDs in the Limited/Overland? I want pure white to match the HID Xenon Headlights in the 2012 Overland. Thanks
