Re: LED Light Bar Build Thread - Pic Heavy

I know semi old thread.
On a 2015 limited. Is it possible to remove just airdam portion. Or will I still need to remove entire bumper and grill

If you only need access to the air dam area, it is quite easy to remove. Chief Products has a great write up for this:

Mounted my Rough Country 20in X5 LED bar to a bull bar. Made it pretty easy without any drilling.

How much of a pain was the wiring? Also, can you take a pic of the hole in the firewall where you fed the wires through?

And lastly, where did you mount the on/off switch?

Thanks a ton

Well? How did it go?

My test light bar has the mounting holes on the sides too far back, so it won't clear behind the plastic grille.

I can either fab up some mounting brackets with the top mounting surface on an angle where they meet the front bumper support, thereby moving the light bar back...but since I just sold my drill press and bench grinder (just moved), I don't want to have to go out and buy another just yet...

Or...I can try the big-assed U-bolt idea that you have going on in the pics...so I am wondering if it worked well.

Or...I can just bite the bullet and get a new Rigid SR-Series 20" Midnight Edition... It will hurt the back account quite a bit (and the wife will probably knock me out), but from the original post it appears it will fit just fine without me having to fab something up.

Decisions, decisions...

Interested in using the wireless set up. How has it held up for you. A little skeptical about going with a cheaper set up in case it fails but if it does the job then id definitely order this one.
