Re: LED Light Bar Build Thread - Pic Heavy

I hope no one finds this to be a stupid question...but how hot do the face of LED light bars typically get? The first thing I thought of was does it get hot enough to melt the part of the grille that it sits behind. I am sure that it is a non-issue, but wanted to throw it out there in case anyone else was wondering as well.

I have several Rigid SR Series; including one with Specter optics, I mention this because they have higher LED density (more heat) than the standard version. They don't get hot enough to melt the plastic. In fact the front lens is some sort of plastic. I would not be concerned with them in that location.

FWIW, none of my Rigid lights are on my WK2, if I can figure out how to buy some more and not get caught installing them it will be another story.

Re: LED Light Bar Build Thread - Pic Heavy

This is the exact thread I was looking for. Thank you! I am looking into the 20" flood/spot combo and wanted to mount it in the exact same space.

I am looking forward to see the posting of the additional pictures (including one during the day to see what the lightbar look lights situated behind the lower grille)

So the 20" does not fit? What was preventing the installation? How much does it interfere? you didnt happen to take any pics did you??

Thank so much in advance..

Re: LED Light Bar Build Thread - Pic Heavy

Would like to see more pics. Would this be too bright to use as a fog light instead of the two stock projector type ones on my '14.

This would look real great if you could cut the mesh and fabricate some kind of molding around the cut in the mesh.

Re: LED Light Bar Build Thread - Pic Heavy

Is it the 20" E series that doesn't fit or the 20" SR series that doesn't fit? I was looking with bumper on and don't see why it wouldn't.
