All remote. Hence no need to go through the fire wall at all. They give you two remotes. I kept it velcro'd to the dash.

PIAA RF18 mounted on the RRO bumper bar combo. It's just propped up here for the pic. I don't like the PIAA harness and am waiting on a harness that will allow me to use a 3 position switch on/off/auto(high beams).

Nice! Where are you getting the harness? I'd like something like that as well.

I ordered a Rigid Industries back up light harness. I'll modify it a bit to work with one light and tap the high beam instead of the reverse lights. Should work, if not, I'll have to figure something else out.

I got the harness on Monday. had a chance to hook it up today. The back up light harness had 2 sets of wires coming from the relay to go to each aux. back up light. I just snipped one set off and taped it up. Connected the other to my light bar and everything works great. I have on/off/auto working perfectly, with auto triggering off the high beams.

Here's a quick video from the interior, you can see the high beams activate and the light bar come on. It's really bright out today, these were the best I could get.

Here is the exterior view. Can't see the high beams come on, but they are.

Re: LED Light Bar Build Thread - Pic Heavy

Very cool. So did you splice the wires into the high-beam headlight harness instead of the rocker switch?

Re: LED Light Bar Build Thread - Pic Heavy

No. The back up light harness has a separate wire that taps into the high beam wire. It has a 3 position switch, on, off, auto.

Re: LED Light Bar Build Thread - Pic Heavy

Ah, makes sense. Postion ON goes to the light bar to turn it on without the high beams on. Auto goes to the high beam wire so when power goes to high beams, it energizes the light bar. Off goes to nuttin'.

Thanks!

Jeep looks great.

Sorry to redirect thread, quick question. What tires and size do you have?
