Re: Light in the little cubby spot

It does appear that a light should be there. Checked mine and there is something there. Found this in a review of the 2014 at AllPar;

Edit: Picked it up from service and there is a blue light in the cubby. Not one that lights up the entire cubby, but lights up each of the jacks that are in there. I'll have to take a closer look tomorrow once the snow ends.

"The Grand Cherokee includes three auxiliary jacks for the stereo: standard audio, USB, and SecureDigital. There is no CD drive, even on our top-line Summit (some new Darts have CD players in the center console). All inputs are in a backlit little cubby with a door under the center stack."

Re: Light in the little cubby spot

Cubby in my '11 has a small light, barely noticeable.

Re: Light in the little cubby spot

That's a shame. It's like a cave in there at night. I ordered a small LED light for it from an LED place that Yocubed put me on to.

I'll post pics once it's installed.

Cheers

What's a shame? The lighting that is there is plenty to allow attachment to the jack's, not much room for anything else. There is additional lighting in the picture from the interior lights, just the blue on the jacks is in the cubby.

Gravity, I believe the clip is showing at the top of this photo. I pulled this clip and wire down and wasn't sure what the heck it was? Pain in the arse to put back . . . I don't know if that is a mini LED light or what? I sure wish there was a decent light in there, too!

Re: Light in the little cubby spot

It was one of 4 items they were looking at today at Renfrew. I have a feeling that it's not a light.

But from what others are saying all it does is enable the blue outline of the USB and SD card slot to light up or glow.

But maybe it wasn't working and I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Waiting for them to call me.

Update, Advised today that there isn't a light in that location. Solves that mystery.
