Llumar Air Blue 80

Hey all,

Just wanted to share that I recently tinted all of the windows of our new JGC Limited, including the windshield, with Llumar Air Blue 80. Results have been fantastic. Weather has been super hot here in Nor Cal recently and the JGC has been markedly cooler inside, even though we keep the windows up (we park outside). Visibility has not been affected at all and the tint blocks 99% of all UV rays.

Would highly recommend the AB 80 to anyone who wants to tint their windows but doesn't want the limo tint look.

Once I get our new Overland grille inserts and chrome tow hooks installed, all mods should be complete! (To date, have the tint, Ionic CXV running boards, Trav All cargo barrier and Jeep oem rubber mats all around (including cargo area).

I've been considering the windshield tint for a while and wanted to get something to help block the UV rays, as I can already feel the difference from the ceramic tint I had installed on the two front windows. So it's good to hear other's enjoy the protection as well.

Does it make it a look darker from the outside or is it not so noticeable?

Re: Llumar Air Blue 80

The AB 80 is hardly noticeable - really can't tell the windshield is tinted. In terms of darkness, no - the windshield does not look darker from the outside. Really is almost a clear film with just a hint of blue in it.

Re: Llumar Air Blue 80

Did you put this on over the factory tint, or just the windshield? I was also considering it since texas heat is so brutal. maybe then I wouldnt need the foil windshield cover I have to put on every time I get in and out. It goes on the inside right? I have the overland version and don't want it to interfere with sensors or something.

Re: Llumar Air Blue 80

We put this on the windshield and all of the other windows, including in the rear. The factory tint is actually in the glass, not a film so there is no problem adding tint to the factory glass. AB 80 doesn't interfere with any sensors or mobile phone signals, etc. Here is a bit more information from Llumar's website:

Re: Llumar Air Blue 80

My tint shop recommends this for back windows even though the back windows are tinted from factory they have no UV protection and if you just tinted front two windows and not the back if somebody wanted to break into your jeep the back windows would just shatter cause they are not film tinted. My plan is to do this but didn't think of windshield and will ask them if the can do it. Hell I even have my windows on my house tinted with Llumar tint.

Re: Llumar Air Blue 80

Thought I'd share some pics so folks got an idea of what the AB80 looks like on the JGC. As you can see, doesn't impact the view too much and just a subtle blue tint from the outside.

My1st, absolutely right on the factory tint not really doing much in terms of security. Also think that in an accident, better to have the film all around so glass isn't flying everywhere. Check out the crash test videos on IIHS or youtube - bits of glass go everywhere in a side impact!!

Yep that was another thing I forgot about. It's defiantly added protection to your other passengers in the event of a crash.

Re: Llumar Air Blue 80

Just got a quote to get mine done. Tint law 50% fronts and adding air blue 80 to everything else besides windshield $430. Can't do windshield here unless you get something from eye doctor stating you need it.

That's a pretty reasonable price.

Yeah it's normally $300 if you tint all windows with regular tint. I don't want the back windows any darker cause I can only go 50% up front. The air blue 80 is a ceramic tint which adds the extra cost but it's reflecting properties are worth the extra over just adding the clear uv film. With black interior it is well worth it.
