Looking to upgrade the lights on my 2012

Hey everyone. Not much of a 'car guy' but I love my 2012 Laredo and I'm looking to replace all forward lights (high, low and fog) which are currently halogen to LED. I've read around and have a headache from all the information. Can someone point me to a set of lights that are quality and will work? Any and all help will be appreciated.

Thanks.

I replied to your PM, but didn't mention my high beams.

I'm using OSRAM Night Breaker Unlimited 9005 bulbs for the high beams.
They are usually less than $40 shipped from PowerBulbs over in the UK.

Note that some people don't think the H11 LEDs put out 'enough' light as a low beam, but both my wife and I have no problems with them (and her night vision sucks).

You could always go with a light bar . I guarantee it'll be brighter than any bulb you'll find lol

Re: Looking to upgrade the lights on my 2012

Unfortunately you are very limited by what you can do mainly because of the stock halogen reflectors. You could go throw in a plug and play HID kit, but the output is going to suck and they are going to blind everyone in front of your car as the halogen reflectors aren't designed to focus HID light. So thats not the right way to do it, but as I'm sure you see everyone does it.
Your best bet would probably be to find one of the highest quality replacement halogen bulbs and run that, and if you want to take it a step above, run them using a dedicated wire harness. That should make a noticeable improvement and would be easy and cheap to do.

The last thing I can mention, but this is really only for those that have the skill and knowledge to do it would be a total HID projector retrofit, but that requires a lot of time and skill and is not an easy task. This would also be the most expensive.

Oh and I thought of one more thing you could do. You could swap in a pair of HID headlights from one of the higher end models such as an Overland. I'm sure that has been done a number of times on the forums and the headlights should be getting pretty cheap by now on ebay. Not only will your light be significantly improved to HID projector, but it will upgrade the look of the front of your Jeep.

I ran XenonDepot in my 2012 when I had it. Did not blind drivers. Lots of light output right in front of you. Definitely better than halogen, but still not true Factory HID

Re: Looking to upgrade the lights on my 2012

I literally just installed these this afternoon, I bought them on Amazon. I would have posted a picture but according to the iPhone app I don't have permission??

- JDM ASTAR 1200 Lumens Extremely Bright 144-EX Chipsets PSX24W 2504 LED Bulbs with Projector for DRL or Fog Lights, Xenon White

- Philips - Diamond Vision H11 Halogen HID Super White 5000K (Pair)

Install was straight forward using the access ports in the wheel wells for the headlights and the gap between the bumper and the wheel well for the fogs.

Appearance is dramatically different and visibility is about the same but now with a pure white / blueish hue vs. the standard look of stock halogens. I'll post pics of the lights on in a little bit once I figure out how to get on the approved list to post photos..

Could you share your PM? What was your choice for low/high beams?
