I'm picking mine up this Saturday and I know the rears are 18% and the max tint for the front windows here in TX is 25% so that's what the dealership is doing. I'll post pics up this weekend when I pick it up so you all can see what 25% on the front looks like vs. 18% on the back. My Dodge Ram has the same set up so here's a few pics of the Ram with 18% in the back and 25% on the front done before I picked it up back on May 2nd, 2009.

Re: Matching window tints, help!

I want to get mine done...unfortunately although the state of illinois now allows 35 percent tints on the front windows....Chicago still gives $250 tickets for front tinted windows. Hate the city and their rules.

Re: Matching window tints, help!

markp99 and gokart508 I'm sorry but I don't have any info on the brand of film or the %, I had it done at my good friends dealer as a "hook up side thing" so I just told him to do whatever it takes to make it match the rears best and this is what I got. I wish I could help more.

suprand - the law in Illinois is 50% on the front windows if your vehicle came from the factory with "privacy glass" (tinted) in the rears and 35% all the way around (- windshield) if there's no "privacy glass." My fronts are darker than 35% crossing my fingers...... Chicago cops are still giving out tix in hopes that people will just pay it or because they don't know the law, such bullsh!t!!

I also have Llumar tint and mine is at 15%. I do want to let people know that Llumar tints are Polarized and if you wear your polorized sunglasses you will get Rainbow effects! so do not be alarmed!

Re: Matching window tints, help!

I would also like to know what tints to put on. Down here in Miami I've paid for plenty of tickets for dark tinted windows, legal limit is 28% in the front and 15% in the rear. I'll figure it out i guess.
Does anyone know what the percentage is on the rear windows from factory?

Re: Matching window tints, help!

I recently had my tinted from a place in South Florida called Tint World. Ive used them on ever vehicle I have ever owned and they do an amazing job. The guy said the back was 15% and smoked rather than tinted. For the front he put in 18% of the Carbon based tint. The outside looks uniform but you can tell a slight difference on the interior.

My guy informed me that the smoked glass in the back is good but recommended I get the whole rear tinted (the lightest shade) to help with the UV protection. Personally I think he was trying to up my price from $80 to $200+ but who knows. I would stick with the carbon based tint because it really is the best stuff. You'll be fine with 18% in the front.

PS- Tint World only offers 30%, 18%, and 5% for its carbon based film. If you want to get 15% you have to go to a metal based film that can interfere with your remote transmitter. Hope this helps.

GO NOLES!

Re: Matching window tints, help!

Has anyone added a small band of tint (eyebrow) across the top of the front windshield? If so, any photos would be great.

Re: Matching window tints, help!

Bobs sorry about the random thankyou to your question. The thanks button is dangerously close to the page navigation buttons at the bottom of the screen when surfing on an iPhone. I'd like to unthank to avoid confusion if anybody knows how?

Re: Matching window tints, help!

Arizona is 35%. Have a mineral gray overland but the rears almost look brown, could be dirt:-) what do you think of 35% ceramic tint on front?
