Re: MGP Brake covers

And you have just increased your braking distances in repeated stops since these brake covers prevent the calipers from dissipating heat.

Re: MGP Brake covers

From the manufacturer: "These easy to install covers reduce brake dust, decrease caliper heat, prolong the life of brake pads and hide unsightly rust."

dave2002ti, Do you think this claim is false? I'm no expert, just curious as to your claim.

Re: MGP Brake covers

Looks good, they don't do squat about brake dust or wear however. Dust will find a way onto the wheels regardless.

Are those HD or regular brakes in those photos? There is not much wheel/caliper clearance when I run OEM 18 wheels on my HD brakes, how much thickness/diameter do they add to the caliper? Are they easy to remove/reinstall?

The aluminum ones do seem to give the caliper a bigger heat sink and heat dissipation area so it may perhaps decrease caliper heat by a smidgen, but I dunno.

Re: MGP Brake covers

Those wheels make it hard to even see the covers. The covers would show better with the stock 20's.
