Mirror replacement

I've been looking left and right. And checked out a couple of links here but since most post are older. I was curious if there are other options now for us to have replacement caps? Someone banged into my mirror and cracked it dead center. Small crack and scuff but enough to annoy me.

I have a black altitude 15..are the regular Laredo brilliant black mirrors the same?

And if they are where can I order just a cover... All I see are chrome

Thanks for any help very appreciated.

Re: Mirror replacement

I just changed my mirror caps to be body colored because I couldn't stand the chrome.
I purchased a set of mirrors in ready to paint color from eBay for a great price. https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/351593725823

Wasn't too difficult to remove the caps and then just swap them.

Re: Mirror replacement

I'm looking at doing the same thing, but finding any color besides black or chrome is next to impossible. And, I've yet to see just the caps. Everything is the entire unit.

Changing them looks fairly simple - http://www.moparonlineparts.com/docs/82212218.pdf

Since you just want the caps you should be ok finding the cheapest housing you can. There are some on Amazon, PartsGeek, etc for around $50 per side. I'm going to try this route and get the caps painted to match.

Thanks for the help! I'm curious though the caps I see online if you zoom in on the lower end of the cap its not colored. It's that plastic texture.

Is that the picture or is that the actual cap? My whole cap piece is painted. (By plastic texture I mean how the limited have the gray plastic texture trimmings material - that kind of texture)

It's crazy how this isn't that popular for aftermarket options besides chrome!

I was baffled too. I bought the entire mirror housing for a white Laredo and just swapped the chrome caps for the color matched white ones. Figured by the time I bought the caps and paid to get them painted the price wasn't going to be that far off. Not the cheapest way but i figured I'd sell the Laredo mirrors (brand new now with chrome caps) back on eBay. Listed quite a few times and not a single bite plan didn't work so well - but hey, I have color matched mirrors now

It is just the picture. The cap is completely painted.
I just got mine back from the body shop and they now match my Max Steel color perfectly.
Hopefully I can now sell the mirrors with chrome caps since they're in new condition.

Re: Mirror replacement

I'm in the process of changing the chrome caps to paint to match caps. It's proving to be a bit more of a challenge than I anticipated as there are two clips that are tricky to get to.

I ordered these mirrors since all I want is the caps

Pax - CH1321330 | Partsgeek.com

I'm planning on using Dupli-color to match. I'll update this thread or make a "how to" once I'm done.

Re-post from an older thread - not sure where it is right now, but there are the directions.
