Mirrors with blinkers question

Hi i just purchased the side mirrors with blinkers and want to retrofit into my 14 Laredo.

I was wondering if these mirrors light up when one approach the vehicle as a "proximity" light? I've seen some cars that will shine the floor when the owner unlocks the doors along with the cabin lights.

Yes they have approach lamps in them.

Re: Mirrors with blinkers question

The mirrors arrived yesterday, and today I installed them. They were pulled from an unknown 2013 WK2. The mirrors had the chrome covers and i swapped the covers to match the body color. Now i just need a quick trip to the dealer to wake them.

Also the mirrors have a triangle on the outer top... i'm guessing these are blind spot monitoring? If so, do i need extra modules to enable this?
Another thing i noticed was a line around the mirror... whats that for?

The install was straight forward, i followed the instructions found at some threads. I just can't wait to have them working along with the puddle lights.

This is the module inside the door panel. The original mirror has only one plug. This new mirror has two.

Re: Mirrors with blinkers question

The line (if it goes all the way around like I suspect it does) is for the auto dipping feature (comes on with your headlights to dim the glare from vehicles behind you). Yes the triangle is the blind spot monitor (ties in with your reverse sensors). The puddle lights come on when you unlock the car. Apparently the MY14's in the US don't get this feature, but in Oz we do.

What did the mirrors cost you?

Re: Mirrors with blinkers question

Yes the line goes all around the mirror. All i wanted was the blinkers on the mirrors, so the auto dimming is a bonus. Also, i found some mirror pictures with some vertical dotted lines, do you know what is that?

I was doing my research about the BSM, and what i understood from the diagram, each side has their own radar at $670 each, plus the module at $260 and they aren't tied with the back up sensors.

Now i wonder if these BSM radars mount to the bumper or body, and if they mount to the bumper, i'd like to know if my regular bumper has the place to mount it.

I never thought about adding the BSM, but now that my new mirrors have the ability to add the feature, this will be on my "mod" list.

Update: Got the mirrors sync with TIPM, blinkers work, but he said my mirrors don't have puddle lights!?!? The service rep told me they are mounted on the bottom of the mirror housing, and I don't have it.

The puddle lights are Overland and Summit only for the 14s. My limited has the blinkers, auto dimming, but does not have puddle lights.

That must mean there are two different versions out there.

The 2013's do not have the puddle lamps I have a 2013 Overland and wish I had them too... I wonder if they can be added somehow

How can I tell/test if the auto dimming is working? The service rep added the code that I found on the forums: LEBA this code enabled the blinkers.
Will this code wake up all features of the mirror?
