Re: Mod Squad

Anybody done anything lately? I have a pile of boxes building up at home, wife keeps sending me angry emails when another one arrives. Should be home in less than a month I will post pics and log all the things I am going to do.

Re: Mod Squad

Nothing to out of control... yet!

I have ordered the major components to
Tint front windows to match.
Apply clear bra
Install Blendmount for BEL 995 and BEL direct wire
Tint tails
HID conversion on Fogs

Also going to powder coat wheels and I am considering either color matching(dark charcoal) or going black on trim.

In the future I want to
retrofit HID low beam on my stock halogen
Possibly Lift, waiting to hear about the RRO 2.5", followed by larger rubber
LED replace Side markers, tail light bulbs, and reverse
Depending upon how I like/dislike the stock system I may need to do some swapping there.
If my wife has not killed me at that point then CAI(new Mopar one???, i have the 3.6L) and exhaust.

All of this is tentative as we haven't even taken official ownership yet. It was just unloaded from the rail car a few days ago.

Re: Mod Squad

Anyone do anything new lately? I am looking for ideas. My neighbor down the street just bought the exact same summit and I want to look different now. My crossbars should arrive next week but I am looking for more ideas.

Re: Mod Squad

It's been awhile since the last mod, so there's a bit of a flurry pre-ski season.

On Deck:

1) Flyin Ryan TB in the mail: FRP Price List

2) Volant CAI in the mail (thanks GFY8): Volant CAI

3) Paint those braces body color: front grill going in for PS2 before Turkeyday.

What's You Got Maing?

I thought you had the CAI already. Both should make for a difference.

Re: Mod Squad

Ryan, the ported TB is working well, noticeable when running hard in the high alpine.

Home run with the SRT8 steering wheel install below. Huge props to Ggolow and 604.

Next up, 604's carbon fiber over the wood Overland interior trim.

Re: Mod Squad

How hard are these modifications to do? I'm new to this and somewhat handy but never did anything myself with my jeeps.

Re: Mod Squad

MonteJeep:
Study the various threads in this forum and figure out what it is that you would really like to do. Start with the simple stuff. On my Overland, I decided to concentrate first on cosmetics, like removing all the badges, side strips and "advertising," which is pretty easy. I've contacted a body shop that has done excellent work for me in the past, and in a couple of months they will be painting door handles, mirror covers, grille and tailgate chrome strip body color (deep cherry red), and painting the interiors of the 18" polished wheels black.

I've fiddled around with and "hot-rodded" so many cars and boats over the years, some of which worked well and some of which gave me constant headaches, that I promised myself that I would stay away from the mechanicals this time--at least for the time being!

The only "mechanicals" I see at the moment that I might consider in the future are the Volant CAI and the Corsa exhaust system, in concert with a programmer--and only when I can see some actual chassis dyno figures from that combination of components that justifies the expense involved! I've had so many "growling" V8 intake and exhaust systems in the past that performance "sounds" by themselves, without significant accompanying power gains, are just no longer all that interesting to me.

Re: Mod Squad

Limo Tint all the way around. 2 Crave 20" w/ Nexen 265/50. Husky mats, Mopar Cargo, Pedal Kit and Mopar Sill guards. Shank antenna on the way. Looking for the right front and rear HID's. Next weekend I'm going to take the plastic chrome pieces off the sides.

Anyone is So. Cal know a good shop to paint front grill to match body?
