Rock rails are awesome too, I'm thinking long and hard about that addition for mine (when it comes that is).
Absolutely no rubbing whatsoever in any conditions. (even when it lowers to aerodynamic height) I've checked numerous times and haven't seen any signs at all. (of course, ymmv)

Regarding the speedometer, I haven't gotten around to using an aftermarket programmer to remedy the 5.397% difference. (if the speedo shows 60mph, the actual speed is 56.9mph) I've called the guys at Hypertech and was told it was compatible, but until they show that I can enter the correct gear ratio, I'm waiting. Here's a link to a tire size calculator: http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp

As far as my mileage, I've added rock rails and skid plates. I'm not sure how much weight has been added, but it's at least a few hundred pounds plus. When the vehicle was "stock", I was getting approx. 15mpg (90% true city driving), now it's about 14mpg. (after calculating the difference for the tire diameter) Honestly, I'm not sure if it's because of the added weight or the larger diameter A/T tires, or a combination of both.

Re: Mod Squad

Thanks for the info it is greatly appreciated. I think I'm in on the rails and the Firestone tires also. I had been looking at Tire Rack's rating of the Firestone AT's for general use (which is very good, lots of reviews) and adding the black wheels and Blizzak tires for winter driving. For my Superduty I think the Firestone MT with studs for winter and ice (already have extra wheels for it).

Surely don't need this setup for Phoenix but we plan on retiring to Durango CO area in a couple of years so we will really need it then.

Re: Mod Squad

I need to update my mileage and speedometer calibrations.

I purchased a Hypertech Speedometer Calibrator. Long story short.. the ABS light came on constantly after the calibration. (the dealer reset it for me) The dealer recalibrated as close as possible. (approx. 2.5% off right now) After adjusting for the difference, I'm now getting over 15mpg with 90% true city driving.

I've called Adams Jeep in Maryland. (the ones with the tricked out WK2s) They use the AEV product for recalibrating speedometers and other aftermarket programming.

Re: Mod Squad

I got the lights in from Amazon and they look very good. I'm traveling this week so I wont have a chance to install them but here is a quick test, the white led is VERY bright (hurts your eyes.) They can be cut to size every 2"/3 leds. I'm thinking 12" sections for the front and rear foot wells should work well, then maybe a couple feet in the cargo section. Maybe mount to the underside of the door for puddle lights (figure out something to do with the extra 10 feet).

Wow google/picasa sucks for hosting pictures. I'll get them on photobucket when i have a minute.

+1, though it would need to stick. I'll have the kit sometime in the next week or so and will post a photo thread so everyone can see it live in a WK2.

BT has really nice stuff, much of it Jeep or Mopar specific. Based on some under hood photos I sent them, BT thinks most of it will fit right into the WK2 so we'll see.

At this point, I'm just trying to get Billet Technologies to sign on as a JG Vendor and get them some decent volume from not just veterans who already use BT, but also WK2 guys. Check 'em out.
