Modified 2012 Deep Cherry Red Overland

Included are some pics of my modified 2012 Overland. Modifications include all badges, advertising and chrome side strips removed, body colored painted grille with stainless mesh (from justforjeeps.com) installed, painted fog light surrounds, body colored door handles and mirror covers, body colored tailgate chrome strip with Jeep logo removed, and rear step surround painted body color. Also the 18" polished wheels have had the interiors painted gloss black, the entire wheel clear coated, and 265/65/18 GY Silent Armor tires installed all around, including the spare. Other mods so far include Weather Tech floor mats throughout, Weather Tech license plate covers, and factory mud flaps.

In my opinion, this is the way the vehicle should have been offered from the factory, at least as an option. The interesting thing is that it all looks quite subtle, and probably almost unnoticeable to anyone but a Jeep enthusiast . Most people recognize that the vehicle looks really good, yet can't identify exactly what it is--until they study the front end.

Much credit goes to others on this forum for providing most of these ideas for us enthusiasts to pick and choose from. Thanks to all of you!

Anyone who lives in the inland Northwest and is interested having similar work performed by a top-notch body shop (in Spokane, WA) should contact City South Auto Body in Spokane (509) 448-2883. They do all body work for Lexus in the area, and their shop is absolutely the cleanest and most organized I've ever seen. Besides, they are really nice people to work with, and they get the work done promptly! Took about a week and a half to get all of this done!

I'll update this if I think of more details. Meanwhile, all questions are welcome!

I am waiting anxiously for photos with a pre-determined rep in mind. The red should be sharp.

Re: Modified 2012 Deep Cherry Red Overland

Finally got it uploaded, but the images were too large for the forum, had to have my son upload to his facebook, then copy the image URL, facebook wouldn't load the side view properly so that image is clipped but the rest are solid!

Cost for all the cosmetic work was just over $3500. I'm sure it could have been done for less, but I went with what I believe to be the best body shop in the area, as we had previous experience with them fixing the wife's Lexus following a major animal collision (a bear ran into her front side while she was going about 60, doing $6K damage to the front end). Their repairs were prompt and the vehicle looked like brand new, so I decided to treat myself to that kind of quality work on my Overland. I'm very happy with the results!

Re: Modified 2012 Deep Cherry Red Overland

Looks very nice. I personally would have kept badges though (other than dealer ones of course). It looks too nekkid w/o them, and I'm proud to advertise what I drive. The taller tires fill out nicely, and the painted items look great.

Looks Great So Far, But get all the black rubber trim painted to match. The black trim is what I hate about the new WK.

Re: Modified 2012 Deep Cherry Red Overland

I agree that the black trim looks better painted, but its not practical for anything but a street cruiser up here in the Northwest. Gravel roads and winter snow and ice, with the accompanying sand and salt applied to our roads, would make short work of it. I'm sure that's not a problem in Atlanta, however.
