I ordered them for my 2015 and the dealer said they spent quite bit of time but they didnt fit right, called mopar parts and Mopar apparently is not offering them for the 2014 and 2015 anymore.

I was very disappointed this morning to pick up my new Jeep and no rock rails.
Haha! The skill level of dealers has dropped. Just buy a set and get a panel shop to put them on.

.

Your dealership needs its franchise pulled or the techs need to get re-educated.

Re: Mopar Rock Rails - Not Happy.

Well I gotta agree with you there. My dealer has also run into issues and was unable to install today...grrrrrr. They did tell me the holes aren't lining up with the bolts.
I showed them the pics of a JGC with rails installed, and suggested they call Tech line before they give up. Not sure if the pic I had was a '14 or a '15.
I kinda got my heart set on things, and will be very disappoimted if we don't get it figured out.
Does anyone know is there any diff in the 2014 to 2015 body that might cause issues?
Can someone upload a pic of a 2015 that has these Mopar rails installed ??
Edit ...added the pic I showed them...is this not a 2015 Overland? Sure looks like it to me cause its a twin to mine ... 'cept for the rails I don't have installed yet!

I vaguely remember something recently about the rails not fitting new EcoDiesels. Do some digging and see if you can find it.

Found it:

Re: Mopar Rock Rails - Not Happy.

Yeah, I read someone else was told there was a problem with the DEF system interfering with the rails, but could be BS.

The pics I posted are a MY15 hemi.

So the Mopar TrailHawk rock rails on my 2014 EcoDiesel must be a figment of my imagination. The apparition has been there for 32000 miles.....

Re: Mopar Rock Rails - Not Happy.

What is the diff between the Mopar and Trailhawk rails?
Did you have the Trailhawk rails dealer installed?

Re: Mopar Rock Rails - Not Happy.

I talked to both techs that worked on it, the service manager and the parts manager at my dealership, something has changed as they have done these rails before and these wont work right.
Stupid that Jeep doesn't have new rails out, oh well. I wanted them for appearance more than function as all the off roading i do around here doesn't involve rock crawling at all.

Had them pull it off the invoice and added a 6-year 75,000 mile extended warranty at a steep discount.

Oh and as a side note my 2015 just came off the line 2 weeks ago, so maybe the body panel stamps or something else changed.

Nah, the 2015 apparently doesn't fit the mopar rails for some reason. This was reported by someone previously when they tried to order a set for their MY15 CRD.

So I'm confused. If the pics you posted are MY15, then how can it be these rails won't fit?
I agree they are not just "plug and play" having read many posts about what a pain they are to install either by dealer or the DIY crowd.
I have instructed my dealer to do what they need to in order to get them on.
I have also found some helpful tips on another forum that may help resolve.

Re: Mopar Rock Rails - Not Happy.

This guy's installation video, while long, is full of useful tips to getting the Mopar rails installed. The problem with dealer techs is that they only have the Mopar instruction sheet, which isn't nearly complete enough to deal with some of the issues that you run into. If you are even thinking about doing this job, I'd say this is a must-watch video before tackling the project:

I really appreciate the comments on this thread. I can see that some of you guys actually use your WK2's the way I envision this one will be used. Have to say I'm surprised that these Mopar Rocker Guards can really take that kind of abuse without seriously deforming. Amazing given how thin gage the steel is.

Has anyone on this forum installed the Rocky Road Outfitters Super sliders? Just want to hear from the other side of this debate also.
