Same here... rock salt rattles off the Jeep like buckshot.

Overland Express, they look so tiny I think your Jeep would look waaaaay better if you just took them off! They give you virtually 0 protection so what's the point of having them? No??

Re: Mud Flaps on 2014

Hemi2. I understand what you mean. However because I have spacers on, the largest area of impact prior to installing the mud flaps was where the GRAND CHEROKEE lettering would be (in front), and up the lower side of rear bumper. I would literally get three inches of slush built up in those areas. Now with them installed I do not have build up. I trimmed them so severely....1 because I did not like the boxy look, and...2 they hung down way to far mostly in front. We have a four mile road to travel most weekends, that gets deep ruts in the spring/muddy season. I would tear them off the first 100 feet if I didn't trim the bottoms.

I used a flat blade screwdriver to remove the top trim clip from the guard which pops out. I cut the other lower two trim clips with side cutters as suggested in the OEM Mopar instructions.

Picture show the hardware that I used to fit them. 3 screws and screw clips (the lower one is not in first picture) and one xmas tree trim clip. I used the xmas tree clip because I could not get my hand in to fit the screw clip and hold it from spinning while tightening the screw.

The only hole that needs to be drilled if for the screw under the side skirt, as per last post I did this by hand with a 3mm drill bit.

It looks like the OEM Mopar fronts have an extra hole at the top for a pop rivet. I took a photo to show why I believe they have done this. The top of the mudflap does not sit 100% flush. I'll fix mine with a small black screw at some point.

Overall I am very happy with how they look, much better than the OEM ones that hang about 50mm lower
Today I removed the front Mopar guards and installed the Chinese knock offs (same as yours, XtRmn8). I used the provided hardware, but for the 3rd hole (the most interior hole) I used a self tapping hex screw. Very secure installation. They fit great and look better given their shorter stance/enhanced road clearance.

I kept the rear Mopar guards.

Thanks XtRmn8 for letting us know about the Chinese knock offs!

Sorry I didn't update but I did purchase the Chinese ones. I installed the Chinese ones in the front and the OEM ones in the rear.

Everything's is cool now particularly after the harsh winter and definitely the shorter Chinese ones look much better.

Now I have a full set (mixed Chinese and OEM) that I don't have any use for...

Re: Mud Flaps on 2014

For the folks who have had the Jeep rear guards on a while, do you find they really keep the mud/crud off the rear of the Jeep?

I have both on right now and not so sure on the looks especially on white. Fronts aren't too noticeable but thinking of removing the rears but was curious on some before/after experience from you if you've had both scenarios especially on the rear guards.
