Re: mud flaps on GC ?

The MudFlaps was the first thing i removed on my LR Defender. But well, i see you guys put ugly "covers or socks" on the front of your car and.... yes, it helps to protect the car and the following, it just does not look good ;-). I maybe would think about it when i would drive my car most of the time in "bad roads" (don't know the word in english).

Explain...you mean it looks like it has too many accessories on it like the addition of running boards or wind deflectors? Not sure how mud flaps cheapen a SUV.

Re: mud flaps on GC ?

Does anyone have a picture that shows the whole Jeep with the mudflaps? I can't really tell how they diminish or improve the look of the vehicle from the close up shots.

Re: mud flaps on GC ?

I don't think mudflaps look good on a Jeep Grand Cherokee. I have a 2005 WK and live in an area with plenty of messy streets and I don't see a need for them.

Re: mud flaps on GC ?

I have them on my '96 and am glad I did. It really kept the vehicle looking good-saved the paint. I am also putting them on my Overland. I have already called my dealer to order them and have them installed. It is just a personal preference.

Re: mud flaps on GC ?

I find that the WK2 mud guards look hideous. Especially the front ones. They hang so low. That's just my opinion :P

I would like to see what they actually look like on an overland with 20" wheels

I saw an Overland Summit on Saturday in Denver with the mud flaps and it did not look good, they just hung down way to low.

Re: mud flaps on GC ?

I installed them on mine. Oregon rains too much and the mud flaps help reduce the amount of mud or dirt from the road I get on my car.
I dont think they look cheap and I installed them myself (pretty simple). I do believe they are very strong so they wont fall off.

Re: mud flaps on GC ?

Besides being to low...

They are also not properly molded to fit the underside of the vehicle so there is a huge gap which is visually a major turn off.

If that huge gap was not there I would definitely buy a set.

Re: mud flaps on GC ?

They look ok on the black or dark CG but I think they may stick out too much on white or red.... just my opinion without having seen them on the lighter GCs. I would like to see them on a lighter GC to appreciate the full aesthetic.
