Re: mud flaps on GC ?

Bump for my question. Do you drill into metal(fender)?

No, you use existing holes and the only drilling involves drilling into plastic only.

Re: mud flaps on GC ?

I just put mine on tonight. It was super easy. I only put them on the front, I don't like how the rear ones look. The back end of the WK2 is so sweet, I couldn't do anything to mess with that. I like how it looks with just the fronts on, you barely even notice them anyway. I did the fronts without taking off the wheels, just crank the steering wheel all the way.

Re: mud flaps on GC ?

Some pics of mudflaps on my 2011 Overland. I wasn't sure I would like the looks, but they are growing on me. Dealer installed them.

Re: mud flaps on GC ?

Just curious if anyone with the mudflaps have issues with them hitting objects if/when taking shortcuts (going over curbs, snow piles, etc)

Re: mud flaps on GC ?

I put them on my base Laredo and they looked like SH!T. They definitely look better when next to a 20" rim but next to my crappy base 17's they looked awful so I took them off. I'm thinking of putting them on ebay unless anyone here is interested. Make me an offer.

Re: mud flaps on GC ?

No beauties, but they don't really detract from (or add to) the appearance of our cherry red Overland with 20 inchers. Had the dealer install them, but the tech had never done it before. They could be tighter against the body instead of with some gaps -- something to shoot for if you're putting them on yourself.

I just put a set on myself yesterday and had never done them before. There is a little room for play when you are attaching them. If you are at all handy, you can loosen the bolts/screws slightly that hold them on, push them up tighter against the body and then tighten them back down. All you need is a phillips head screw driver and a couple of sockets. It should take 5 minutes per wheel to see if you can get them snug.

Re: mud flaps on GC ?

Excellent suggestion. Ours, dealer installed, are not truly snug.

The fronts go on easy. Just turn the wheels, pop out a couple of plastic rivets, and there are 4 bolts and screws to install.
