I live on a dirt road and was considering them. Still am, but this thread reminded me of a quote from my dad...."Mudguards don't belong on a Jeep, Son...they just don't"

I like it. But he is talking about a Willys. A Grand is something else.

Yeah, I agree, which is why I'm going to get them. I bet too, that he'll see mine and pick up his own set, then make me install them.

Re: Mud Flaps - Yes or No

I orderred a Black Forest Green Pearl Grand for the same reason. A Jeep should be green. When I picked it up the dealer pointed to where it was. I said that wasn't mine, it's black and mine is supposed to be green. But it was mine. The only time that Black Forest Green doesn't look black is when the sun shines on it at an angle. In fact most of the time it looks blacker than black.

Geez you have me thinking the color of mine - ordered Black Pearl coat - when the sun hits it I see Green flakes embedded in the paint -

I love my black forest green. Hell when I get home from Afghanistan, I'm hoping I can find another JK Unlimited in Black Forest Green to replace the '08 4dr Rubi I sold to get the '13 WK2.

My wife told the dealer the same exact thing, it was getting dark when we picked it up and we didn't even know it was ours.

Re: Mud Flaps - Yes or No

I bought all 4 OEM Flaps for my 2014 Limited.

The Fronts went on pretty good and I don't think they look bad. If it was all painted down there they might take more away from the looks. But with the same color plastic around them they look fine.

I don't think they will save anything from rusting out.

What I like them for the most is keeping tar off the sides. My wifes VW CC was covered in tar (white car) every time I washed it and it was an hour chore cleaning it every time. Since I put flaps on her car it's been much easier to keep clean. Her car is very slick looking and the mud flaps don't look too bad.

So I was about to put the rear set on and wondered how much function do you really get out of them in the rear. Truck doesn't look stupider with them just on the front.

If it protects from tar or crud AT ALL on the very short rear rocker I'll put them on.

I don't like how rear ones go on compared to the fronts, looks week.

By the way does the plastic washer you cut off the mud flap go behind the mud flap or in front? I don't quite understand the purpose of this washer. The drawing is ambiguous. In one spot it kind of indicates it should be behind and in another it kind of indicates in front. It makes a little more sense being behind, that's where I put them. If it was in front it seems there would be more washers than one too.

Re: Mud Flaps - Yes or No

Does anyone happen to know if the front splash guards will fit a Trailhawk? Wondering if the rock rails will be an issue.

Unfortunately the mud flaps won't work with the side rails on the Trailhawk. Sucks because I wanted to add the side rails from the Trailhawk.

That's what I figured after looking at it, figured I'd ask. I had the front splash guards added on my '13 Laredo E and they significantly cut down on the amount of dirt/debris the tires splashed down the side of the vehicle in the rain. every time it rains here, my Trailhawk gets filthy.

I still think I would trade situations with you. I love the Trailhawk GC, and I'd rather have the Trailhawk side steps over mud flaps, but getting Mopar side steps for my 14 Laredo would save me about $400, so for me I guess is a blessing in disguise
