"MudSlinger" 2012 Laredo 4x4

2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4
Brilliant Black

Here I will post updates as i transform my Laredo. I'm going for the Limited look but without so much chrome and add on a 2.5" RRO lift, RRO bumper bar combo and sit her on some beefy wheels & tires. This is my first jeep and by far my favorite vehicle i've owned. After months of searching all the awesome mods on this forum i am impressed. Your input and advice is much appreciated. Thanks

Re: "MudSlinger" 2012 Laredo 4x4

My wife got me a couple sweet add ons under the tree.
Mopar Hood Decal (Mopar Item # 82212889)
Chrome Bumper Molding (Mopar Item # 68078286AB)

also coming within the next month or so front matching window tint and film tinted tails done by the tint shop. I do like the blacked out look on the Wk2 i just feel too many are going that route. So i decided to give it the limited look but eliminate some of the chrome in certain areas.

Looks like a good start in personalizing it to your taste.
And sounds like you have a pretty good plan laid out for the future

Re: "MudSlinger" 2012 Laredo 4x4

Installed the chrome bumper molding yesterday. Looks awesome... it really gives the front more personality IMO. Only took about an hour i installed it by removing the tabs on the back with a pair of snips, then using a file to smooth those areas flat. i then test fitted and decided where the best spots are to drill the holes in the bottom for the screws that will secure it. i then drilled out the holes on the molding test fitted again this time holding it tightly to the bumper while i used the holes i drilled on the molding to stick the bit through and drill a hole into the the plastic shield on the lower bumper. i then used some 3M extreme mounting tape i had lying around on the back as well as mixed some 2 part epoxy and used a small amount on the inside of the lip for extra security. i then put on the molding and screwed the screws in the holes and placed a nut on the back of the screw instead of using self tapping. this thing isn't going anywhere

So you like the blacked out look but think too many are doing it so you're adding chrome. Interesting. At least you'll be able to pick up barely used parts for cheap.

im just changing the look similar to a limited or overland haha... i only buy mopar parts to keep its value and the chrome i have added is nothing more than what the factory has installed already on other models anyway. blacked out looks nice but is only sellable to a certain group of buyers mostly younger generation.
