Blue2002 is on a distinguished road
Must have exterior additions?

Hello all,

I am new to the site, I just traded in my 2002 Jeep Grand Chrokee Laredo, that I put 140K miles. I will say it almost brought a tear to my eye to see the old girl go, but it was finally time to move on. I have been eyeing the new jeeps for a year.

I picked up a nice used Silver 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, 4x4, V6. It is the base model, so plent of room for upgrades. I just wanted to see if you guys had any additional advice. I am planning for some light trails (dirt roads, mb mud but nothing crazy) mainly camping and fishing trips. Right now I am planning to add the following.

1) Tow Hitch (OEM) from justforjeep.com
2) Aries 4in Black oval step bars
3) Front Tow hooks from justforjeep.com

Any other must haves? Looks like the 2in lift is popular? I will def have to save some $$, but I might look into a tire upgrade and lift in the future.

Thanks
TB

You'll need to be careful about your steps when going off road. You should consider not getting them.

Re: Must have exterior additions?

+1 to the hooks and hitch for recoveries, suggest skid plates and AT rubber vs. the steps.

Re: Must have exterior additions?

Welcome to the Garage and congratulations on your purchase. I drove my 2002 Grand Cherokee until 09 and traded for a Lexus. But the 2011 Bright Silver brought me back to Jeep. There are plenty of pics & mod ideas on this site so good luck!
