My '12 JGC interior transformation

I purchased my '12 wk2 for my wife back in 2011 and suddenly have an itch to give it a makeover. The leather seats are katzkin and the extra leather and vinyl material for the doors, armrest and steering wheel are from leatherseats.com. I have a 5year old so I also installed a rear blu-ray flip down screen, which I should have done a long time ago. The most difficult and time consuming portion was wrapping the steering wheel, which I am still not 100% satisfied with.

Prior to this project I had absolutely no experience with auto upholstery, or sewing for that matter.ImageUploadedByJeepGarage1463154737.140669.jpgImageUploadedByJeepGarage1463154808.137201.jpgImageUploadedByJeepGarage1463154955.006506.jpgImageUploadedByJeepGarage1463154978.043023.jpgImageUploadedByJeepGarage1463155085.037914.jpg

Looks good! How hard was it to do? How long did it take you?

Installing the katzkin kit wasn't hard, took about 8 hours total. The steering wheel, arm rest, and doors took months because I was a complete noob at sewing and wrapping upholstery. I finally ended up getting an industrial sewing machine to accommodate the thick leather and thread.
But now I have all of this equipment and experience to reupholster a classic hot rod that I'm going to eventually purchase

the steering wheel looks good! Did you use any steam on it to relax the leather? what's the process to do that wrap on the steering wheel?

No, you don't need to treat the leather but you do have to make sure that the maximum stretch of the leather goes length wise around the steering wheel, if not, you'll get wrinkles (learned that the hard way). There's lots of "how to" articles and videos on youtube on how to wrap a steering wheel so I basically stoled ideas from lots of sources. There was one forum post in some hotrod site in particular that helped the most but I can't find it anywhere...
