PM me if you are interested in the WK2 lamin-x tails kit gunsmoke. it does not include the material for reflectors or third brake light.

J, I screwed up and did not send in the markers or 3rd brake light. So for the time being went DIY with the gunsmoke lamin-x as they are relatively simple surfaces on reflectors/3rd brake light. It went on ok and is durable, but you gotta be perfect with the razor blade to make a clean cut and avoid marring the vehicle trim. No way I coulda done the full tails with this stuff, at least not really well.

Note, once you get the rear interior panel off the hatch, getting at the lenses for removal and install is really easy, link follows here: Help Removing tail lights & bumper reflectors..
Again, Great Looking Tails... the Tint is great, which shade did you have applied? The lamin-x product; looking at their site. On the Nose Protection, Is that the same as the 3M Clear Bra material that is applied by various shops? Didn't you install the 3M bra? Was that a DIY install or shop? I'm curious if this is workable DIY project. It looks similar to the Zagg material that is easy to install on notebooks.

When applying protection to the ft lens, would a tint significantly distort and decrease the light; would the Clear distort too? Any experience from anyone?

Why are you having to send these out? Just to cut out the reverse marker? If thats the case, i'll buy 2 for $17.99 and practice my exacto knife technique. Which shade is everyone buying?
There three different ways to tint your tails and two of them have them look great. haha

1) The Lamin-x kit that you point out. A forum member posted pictures on here a couple weeks back. It can be done by you or usually you can bring it to a tint shop and have them put it on, you don't have to pull apart your tail lights. Its a film, removable in the future and guaranteed not to fade for 5 years.

2) Disassemble your tail lights, ship them or bring them to a body shop that paints tail lights. Its more expensive however would last the life of the car probably. The only downside- if you trade in the vehicle (lease) or go to sell and the new people or dealer doesn't like/want the tinted tail lights, you have to disassemble, wet sand, then have them clear coated to get off the tinted paint.

3) Go cheap, get a 5 dollar tail tint can from auto zone, spray it yourself, Best of Luck.. lol

Hope this helps

Custom Light-Medium; Based on Lamin-x website; Protects & covers your lights from damaging road debris. Choose Clear for invisible protection and/or Color films to add a bold style.

The invisible protection kits they provide would be the same as 3M product by tint shops; I pulled this from their site; Our clear bra kits are precut from 3M's industry leading VentureShield Paint Protection Film with a 5 year guarantee

Thanks for info, I saw the 3M VentureShield comment too, but didn't know if Shops had access to different 3M product: thicker, different shine, etc to provide a different product compared to DIY purchases.

Clear Film on Ft Lens would be my choice; still curious if the film distorts the light... or if the bulb heat causes any film distortion or dis-coloring. As for Chip & Bug protection & aged color & blurring these sound like a perfect low cost must have add-on!

Anyone installed the Nose Protection (Bra & extras) themselves? Any comments on the Install or if you liked the finished look compared to Shop Install?

I tried Window Tinting a Vette's windows 12 years ago and ruined more film than I applied... just didn't "look" as clean & clear as shop. But that was older inferior product & much different product to work with & install.

Zagg's protection film works smooth and looks professional when done and I think it's the same material.
